Why this business was started

The camouflage industry in America is significant. Millions of hunters spend millions of dollars every year on camouflage products from names such as Realtree, Mossy Oak and Sitka. There has been an explosion of the number and variety of camouflage companies, driven by both an increase in demand from hunters and technology reducing barriers to entry.

As hunters have filled their closets with camouflage clothes, there has been another trend of critical note, an increased focus on hunter safety and state regulations of wearing orange while hunting.

In most states, a hunter wears camouflage worth hundreds of dollars but then be required to cover it all with a “hunter orange vest”.

In contrast to a hunter’s expensive camouflage, a solid orange vest does little to help them blend in. Even though deer cannot see the orange (they are color blind), the lack of pattern makes hunters easier to be spotted by deer. Clearly, this is less than ideal. There is a market gap for a product that would satisfy state orange requirements, yet still maintain effective camouflage against deer.

At the other extreme of camouflage, bowhunters and turkey hunters wear “ghillie” suits. Most states do not require bowhunters and turkey hunters to wear orange, their form of hunting requires them to get within yards of their target. As orange requirements are also usually relaxed during these seasons, the frequent camo of choice is a ghillie suit made up of hundreds of leaves attached to a base suit or jacket that completely breaks up the wearer's outline. These hunters wear this kind of suit for the same reason military snipers do, it offers the absolute best form of camouflage there is.

There does not currently exist a garment that combines the best form of camouflage - 3D, with any kind of orange pattern - to meet state regulations. In January 2017, See3D developed and filed a provisional patent for a suit that does exactly that. It meets the contradictory requirements of safety and invisibility.

No longer have time necessary to properly grow the business and would like to offer it as a solid foundation to buyer interested in the hunting industry.
