Business Story

Why this business was started

I have a love for design and children's clothing, shoes and accessories is a very rewarding business. You are always celebrating new arrivals, birthdays and milestones. That and selling children's clothing can be much more fun than adults. Everything is cute and little with lots of prints and color. Customers are usually shopping for gifts and happy to be sharing about their loved ones.

The reason of selling this business

We're selling because the pandemic forced us to close our stores and we lost a lot of money trying to bridge the gap of paying rents, employees and buying new inventory with closed physical locations. We are not able to invest what we were investing in inventory previously.

What's involved in running this business

The online store can be run from anywhere. We have been using a 3rd Party Logistics warehouse to fulfill all our orders. They receive and check in all our inventory and we focus on the marketing and sales. The warehouse also offers custom monogramming and is located centrally on the East Coast. If you decide to stay with the warehouse, your biggest tasks would be buying new inventory, merchandising the website, marketing new products on social media and email blasts. You can also directly ping any App users straight to their cellphone with new promotions or product info.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

This online children's store has huge potential for both brick and mortar and online sales. With the infusion of capital for inventory and the right physical locations, this brand can easily be an international success and was set up that way. We are very well known in the children's industry and have had a huge presence the last 12 years with both online and brick and mortar locations. At our peak sales months, we easily sold 70k monthly per channel. Unfortunately the pandemic changed all of that for us and we lost our profits trying to bridge the gap. For the right person or company, our brand can easily be a top preforming store in the retail world.

    Skills to have

It's mostly having a good eye for new products, clothing and shoes of quality and fun marketing. Being involved with the customers and styling their little ones.
