Why this business was started

I love dropshipping and I wanted to have my very own store. I knew Athleisure was a popular industry and the products spoke for themselves, so I spent many late nights getting everything right for the store. Sales began to roll in, and soon the store was taking over $1000 a week - I remember being at work one weekend and seeing $700 sales in one day! This store is a huge winner and it needs someone with ambition to take it to the next level. I have founded a new e-com store which works at HUGE profit margins which is now my focus. This store was my first success and I loved it, but margins are limited to around 50% whereas my new store takes margins of up to 9x product cost (crazy right?)

The reason of selling this business

In honesty - I have created a new store which is far more profitable. I have learnt so much doing this and I have used this knowledge to create something bigger and better. I have supplemented my income very nicely with this store however I am somewhat of a perfectionist and there are many things I would liked to have done differently. A new owner can give this store a new life and start expanding outwards. It should also be noted that it is not all perfect when it comes to dropshipping - there are alot of frustrations that I want to avoid when I come to start my new business. I have essentially used this store to learn, and now would like to use the money from the sale to invest in my new e-com venture. This store is a fairly reliable money machine and just needs somebody with marketing skills to keep it running smoothly and consistently.

Other details about profit: I do not have exact figures. These figures are just an example of what you can achieve, as you can increase or decrease the amount depending on how much time and money you put into it. I will say that my ROAS was very good and my conversion rate was well above industry standard (3.7 % currently but was often 6-8%). The reason my sales dropped is because I ran into issues with FB ads and I also became intimidated by the amount of money and orders I was handling entirely by myself - this is where having Virtual Assistants can really help. I have not run ads properly for almost a month and have had many return customers despite this, with a solid return rate of 8.87% (essentially free money). My return rate proves customers like my products and are more than happy to wait 10-15 days for delivery. Facebook ads is your main expense, aswell as paying for the orders to be fulfilled through aliexpress. Clothing unfortunately suffers from a high return rate due to sizing. You will find most returns are due to sizing so setting up a returns service would be worthwhile as you can re-sell the returned goods and actually begin a transition from dropshipping to inhouse as you can fulfil new orders with re-turned goods (provided they are not damaged and are suitable for resale).

I can also advise on advertising however I am not an expert and I can only share what has worked for me. I can provide this advice through email, phone call or video call - whichever you prefer. My availability will vary but I will always do my best to assist. If you have atleast some experience in dropshipping and shopify, there isnt a whole lot you should need help with. Regardless, I will do my best to help you.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

    I would start a well structured influencer/ambassador campaign to increase exposure.

    I would transition the store from drop-shipping to domestic to increase shipping times and improve customer satisfaction. Saying this, I have been entirely transparent about my delivery times (10-15 days with my supplier) and customers are happy to purchase and even return to my store (8.87% return customer rate). A faster delivery service would help increase returning customers and drive conversion rates.

    I would strengthen branding with packaging and possibly even brand the clothing itself - this is all possible through Aliexpress/Alibaba suppliers if you are willing to inject more cash into the business.

    This store only sells to the UK at the moment, meaning there is HUGE potential to expand to US and other countries where the average cost per purchase through Facebook is significantly lower. I chose the UK as its my home country and I knew it would be easier to deal with returns/exchanges and I was more familiar with the customer.
