Why this business was started
Our business has been a blog and informational website in the healthand fitness space and we were slowly building it out to be an e-commerce platform. The pandemic hit and all our events were cancelled. We decided to pivot to making masks but we wanted ours to be unique. We took all the best things from the masks that were already out there and added our own features and concentrated on unique designs and patterns. Customers took notice and remarked how comfortable and unique the masks were resulting in them spreading the word and coming back for more. Our focus was excellent customer service which shows in our 5 star ratings on multiple platforms.
The reason of selling this business
Although there is so much opportunity left in this company to grow and expand the apparel line, we have decided to sell due to health reasons and the time and attention that our daughter needs for therapy.
What's involved in running this business
Customer service is a big part of our business as it is with any but that has been our biggest focus. Coming up with new designs by listening to customers feedback and keeping an eye on what is trending. A lot of our time is spent packing and shipping and customer follow up. Although we do our own shipping and apparel printing it can be outsourced, we however chose not to do so. Lastly running facebook and google ads and exploring new platforms and other networking opportunities. We convert traffic by educating the customer with videos that show the unique features of our products and educating them on the benefits. We retain customers with newsletters and keeping them up to date on the latest news and products via email campaigns.

I would expand on the apparel side and unique offerings and keep growing social media to keep the audience engaged. Mainly focused on facebook ads so the SEO, Google Ads, alternate social media platforms, Mailing List are all a big opportunity to capitalize on. If you are looking for a true branded store that people trust this is it. We pride ourselves on customer service and get 5 star reviews consistently. This is NOT a dropshipping store that can easily be duplicated.
Skills to have
An eye for design and what is trending is one of the most important skill to have. Photoshop and/or Adobe Illustrator is a plus but not necessary as you can always outsource to a designer. Good people skills for customer service and being attentive to their needs and addressing their problems.
