Business Story

Why this business was started

I saw the need for a high quality, yet affordable fuel injection component line and capitalized on that. From there we created one of the only D2C fuel injection brands and have since built manufacturing partnerships with companies that gross over ~$99b a year

The reason of selling this business

I have 3 other businesses currently and for the right price I can part with this one. We are preparing to move from our current home state to a new home state, so it would be an ideal time to sell.

What's involved in running this business

Maintaining inventory levels, ordering inventory from manufacturing partners, approving payroll hours, approving employee actions (changes to webpages, policies etc). This business is near passive and only requires myself to make executive decisions, meeting with marketing firm, and occasional customer service support in instances or unique circumstances.

This business was founded: over 3 years ago
Time to run this business: approximately 4 hours per week

This 4 year old eCommerce business is earning $69,888 per month. With an average profit margin of ~25%, it is priced at a 3.5x multiple. After an 18 month process, a major manufacturing partnership has been established, unlocking major growth potential. Steady/increased sales through pandemic Top selling products are out of stock majority of the year Business has always been a "side-hustle" with little time dedicated to it Peak monthly sales May 2020 gross revenue: $120,000, June 2020: $103,000 59-page e-Book "How to Design and Build your High-Horsepower Fuel System" 15000+ social media followers 5100+ email subscribers Great relationships with major influencers in the DIY Hot-Rodding Community Registered Trademark ~$80,000 in machinery, tools and storage*** ~$385,000 in inventory (retail price)*** Products I was in the military, operating this business as a "Side-Hustle" until May of 2022. I would close the business for months for deployments/work travel and was still able to create 3x gross revenue growth year over year from 2018-2020. I've only ever dedicated <20 hours per week to running this business. As it sits now, with my assistant I dedicate 4 hours weekly just to maintain stability in income as we prepare to move from Hawaii to the mainland US. All major growth was done organically and through influencer marketing, pay per click, Google and Facebook ads have only recently been added. Strong brand allegiance leads to our main products being out of stock a majority of the time. Sourcing an additional manufacturing partner for budget line of products is in-progress. Premium line of products is being established in order to draw in clients with higher-end budgets who enjoy name brand products as well as tend to spend more for their products to have additional quality markers. This business is one of the ONLY exclusively Direct to Consumer Hot Rod parts businesses. This allows us VERY competitive prices, strong margins and no profit sharing with dealer networks. Growth plans are being developed with professional services to include new eCommerce platforms, new product lines and marketing strategies. Price will be based on trailing 12 month revenue multiples. We have in-depth training manuals and customer service manuals established and near completely refined/finished. A base knowledge of automotive industry is needed at the employee level, however I learned as I started this business and have never hired anyone with experience in this field. It is a fairly simple field with regards to customer service and can be learned quickly. Growth or stability is expected throughout any economic hardship times, our primary customer base believes "Horsepower is an addiction". As well, our prices are 30-40% under competitor prices and as we build trust in our newly developed premium product line we will begin to draw more "common sense" Hot Rodders toward the brand. I am open to negotiation for machinery and inventory pricing, personal assistance after sale and what is included in the sale price. *** Product Inventory is currently valued at $385,000 retail (Shopify output report confirmed) with more products arriving within the month (as of 2 July). INVENTORY IS NOT included in the sale price. Inventory will be sold at purchase price plus freight. All currently used brand specific Machinery is included in price. There are 3x ASNU Classic GDI Machines with optional remote software and laptop. Each is an approximately $12,000 workstation. There is also a $15,000 injector calibration data machine built arriving in the coming weeks that will be amongst only a very few in existence. There is also a $13,000 Fiber Marking Laser that can be purchased or included if negotiated. Among the included items are several computers and tablets, warehouse shelving and organizational bins, tool boxes, replacement components
