Why this business was started

I decided to start this business because it is my life's mission to experience freedom and to help others do the same. I've worked a 9-5 for years, and just last week I was able to quit my job and focus 100% of my efforts on my businesses and building the lifestyle I desire. I envisioned this store as the Brookstone of online shopping, a new experience for online shoppers to come and be engaged and amazed at the product quality and community branding. It was one of the first Shopify stores I've ever created, so I do believe there was an aspect of "beginner's luck" when it comes to the branding and design of the store, because this thing just sells like crazy.

The reason of selling this business

I've decided to sell this store because I feel my time will be better spent focusing on my other businesses. The gaming niche worked well, but I am looking to move into an industry with greater potential for growth. Not to say that the gaming niche isn't a great route, it's very profitable, especially if you know the motivations and desires of the market. This store has served me well, and it's given me a vision of what's really possible with this industry, so I am ready to move on to bigger and better things. If you are just starting out, like I was, I believe (with the right execution), that this store could show you the same things it showed me.

What's involved in running this business

Because I put in the work to get the store up and running, there's little to no maintenance on my end. I do have a virtual assistant that takes care of customer support/emails and fulfills my orders daily, and she works with an independent supplier who ships the products out. Simple systems like these can be put in place to give you the freedom and time to choose how you want to live your life.

    This store has huge potential for growth over the next five years. In less than two months of running ads, the store has generated over $70,000 in sales. The gaming niche worked extremely well for this store, but the greatest benefit to the non-specific branding is that you can take it in any direction you please. It can function as a general store (gives you the ability to sell whatever products you please), it can function as a store to serve any niche (simply find a specific audience and sell products that they could use), and it has been proven to work for the gaming niche if you want to go with the tried and tested route. The eCommerce game moves fast so adaptability is one of your greatest assets.

    Skills to have

    You should have a general knowledge of marketing and how to drive potential customers to the store. So far, we've utilized facebook ads, and they've performed extremely well, but knowledge of any marketing platform would be helpful and you could potentially tap into a market that we haven't yet reached. Our popular products have been on the decline recently, but with the right creativity and marketing ability, I do not think it would take long to get this store up and running like it was in its prime.
