Why this business was started

I decided to start this business because I realized that this product had a demand that needed to be filled. Aside from the initial demand, I also realized that a lot of our customers actually have never seen the product before and decided to buy it from our advertisement. Obviously, with a high demand and an almost untapped product this equates to a lot of money being made.

The reason of selling this business

I have decided to sell this business because I am currently running another Shopify store that needs my attention since I have decided to brand my other store fully. This requires a lot of my time and with the addition of school is a lot to handle. In addition, I feel like my lack of attention to this store is a shame since I know that with the right owner this store can takeoff even more than it already has.

What's involved in running this business

For this store, I have a direct connection to the factory that produces the product which I will connect the new owner to after the sale has been made. The factory has an ERP system that automatically fulfill orders for me so the only thing required for order fulfillment is to send the factory owners batches of orders, which they will then calculate the price on an excel sheet in which you will then send the payment over to them. Once the payment had been received, they will fulfill the orders very quickly.

In terms of marketing, I handle all the marketing on my own mainly through FB and IG ads, with the bulk of traffic coming from IG. So, general knowledge of running online advertisements is recommended. (Or you can hire somebody to do your marketing)

Customer service is a huge part of online business, I hire virtual assistants from Upwork to handle my customer service, and will gladly show the new owner how I hire my virtual assistants and provide the scripts that I have been using for them too.

They needed to order raw material to make the product and needed to spend 45K on raw materials. I told him I am not sure if I could sell all the product and didn't want him to make a bad investment. He responded saying I will take the risk for you because I trust that you can. Long story short, I was able to sell way more than I thought and he thought. This is how relationships with suppliers should be when doing business.

    How to grow this business

    Over the next 5 years I would grow this store even more by branding the product and growing the social media following. We currently have 10K followers on Instagram, which is good but can be grown way more if the correct strategies are implemented. We are in a growing industry and this product has barely scratched the surface of its true potential.

    Just like any Ecommerce store, basic knowledge of how to run an online business is required. These skills include social media management, social media marketing, order fulfillment, and customer service.
