The gaming niche is one of the biggest industries today, especially due to the quarantine. I decided to take on (buy) the store earlier this year because of my interest in gaming (I'm a gamer myself) and to take advantage of this niche and make a shop dedicated to gamers!
I also did a lot of research to carefully select products that had huge success potential and that had a use for everyone who was spending most of their time at home. Our vision is to provide gamers with quality products that give them a great gaming experience.
The site started running at full capacity in April 2020 by the previous owner, and managed to achieve a turnover of a little over $8000 in the first month.
In total, the site has made $164,000 (as of Nov. 8), with the following breakdowns: Turnover for the last 6 months: $154,810, Turnover for the last 3 months: $117,885, Turnover last month: $39,060
This website has run solely on Google Ads (Google Ads account will be passed on to new owner). The new owner can start retargeting campaigns via Facebook to increase profitability.
The reason of selling this business
I am a masters student so I want to focus on shaping my thesis. I as well am starting a new physical business (not dropshipping) so this will serve as a capital investment.
What's involved in running this business
There are 4 processes in running this business: 1) Run marketing: we will assist the new owner through the first weeks of marketing. We have compiled a guide for methods using Google Ads and best scaling schemes. 2) Placing orders with suppliers: when an order is received, the order needs to be placed on our agent's website. This process is fully automated so all orders will be automatically placed with a matter of just 3 clicks. 3) Customer support: when you receive an email, you should answer it within the same day to keep good relations with the customer base. This task can be easily delegated. 4) Product research: we have done the bulk of the work and have identified the winning products, so keep marketing those, but more market research more revenue. We have also compiled a guide for market research in the gaming niche.

How to grow this business
The next steps to take with the store for long term success is to stock up with an agent in a USA warehouse. The agent that we are currently working with, which we will be handing over to the next owner, would be able to offer this possibility with fast local deliveries.
We have automated the customer service, site development and improvement, and order handling so it would be easy to hand it over to a VA. We currently have not delegated that role because it only takes us a time commitment of 1-2 hours a day.
The focus should be put on marketing for the long run. We currently use Google Ads, with ad campaigns running for over 6 months generating a 8.5x ROAS. These can be scaled, but do need the upfront investment to get great results. The Google Ads account will be handed over to the new owner so that the existing campaigns continue to bring in more customers. We have a step by step guide for our existing and new campaigns which we will hand over.
Skills to have
The skills that would be needed is a little marketing background and a little customer service background. The management of this store can be done by a beginner or an experienced entrepreneur. We will provide our step by step guide of the marketing aspect that is currently working for us, and provide support for the automated processes.
