Business Story

Why this business was started

I am offering this shop at a great discount because I have stopped running it. I think the new owner would be best to live in the UK and instead of doing straight dropshipping from China, they should buy stock in bulk and keep it in a fulfilment warehouse in the UK. I found that I could not control the quality enough from the suppliers and also the long shipping times is an issue. The store was set up and optimized by a person in the UK and most of the history, which is extensive with over 9000 likes on Facebook, mature pixel on Facebook and Instagram, over 6000 email list, is in the UK.

I bought this business from an experienced Shopify owner since I was completely inexperienced. I wanted to hit the ground running. I wanted a business I could run from anywhere and learn more about dropshipping and Facebook ads. I now run an Amazon FBA business. and another Shopify store that is successful because I bought stock in bulk and keep it in a fulfillment warehouse in the US, as well and would rather focus on that.

Exchange values this shop at 31k. The previous owner actually had a first month revenue of $24k when he started which shows what can be achieved easily, however he ran into issues with his new paypal account being frozen because he had a lot of money running through it in a short time and it was a new account. So, he had cash flow problems which caused that revenue level to drop. I knew it wouldn't be hard to ramp things up again to that level. As the charts will show, there has been an upward angle since Sept. 18 when I took over.

There is an issue with the Facebook Ad account for the original Facebook page due to negative feedback which was negative because of quality of a couple of the products that I tried to fix by not selling them anymore, however, the negative state continues on the page. I started a separate Facebook page to use for ads instead. If you are experienced with Facebook ads, this can be overcome, but I recommend that the new buyer be experienced.

The reason of selling this business

I was diagnosed with cancer recently, after I bought this shop, and can't spend the time on it to really scale it to it's full potential. At this time, all of the Facebook advertising is to the UK and I am not doing much in the way of email marketing, so there is so much more to do and expand. I want to focus my attention on Amazon FBA and another Shopify store. This store has a VERY mature Facebook pixel which is worth a lot. It just needs someone to put more work into it with upsells and email marketing, a video ad, new additions to the product line, things like that. Could easily be a $1000 a day shop. I am selling below what I paid for it so it is a steal.

Over 9000 likes on the Facebook page with an engaged audience. Over 6000 emails captured.

What's involved in running this business

About an hour a day to check in with my VA and my Facebook Ads manager. My VA manages to the orders and customer emails and also assists with making changes or additions to the store.

Other details about profit: Product sales minus product cost and advertising. In addition, the store currency and ad targeting, customer base, is in the UK so revenue is earned in British Pounds. I find this provides me, as a Canadian, an extra income simply from currency exchange of British Pounds to Canadian dollar. The shop has not been very active for a few months so the averages are much lower in the recent months. All it would take is investing in and running an effective ad campaign to see good revenue and I am not allocating resources to this at this time - I am focusing on my other online business.
