Why this business was started

I can barely remember why this business was started :-) But for many years the business has been fun to work with and given me a financial foundation so I could travel and start other small businesses.

The business is well-known in Denmark. In early 2019, we switched to Shopify from a local eCommerce system, and a few months ago, we changed the domain from .dk to .eu, to be able to reach out to all EU countries. The Store has now been translated into Danish, English and Swedish, where the primary sales still come from Danish customers.

The Store has mainly 5 stars customer reviews, included on Trustpilot.

The primary traffic source is direct/organic, and I only run ads on Google Shopping using the Shopify app (autopilot).

The reason of selling this business

After 10+ years in the coffee business, I have decided to try new things. I'm not google or social-media-marketing savvy, and I acknowledge I don't have the skills to grow the business to the next level (It has been challenging and taken me some time to accept).

There is undoubtedly a great potential in this business for the right person or company. I firmly believe the right company or person can take this business to the next level.

What's involved in running this business

It has always been essential to be able to run the business from an iPhone/laptop, so all business processes have been set up accordingly.

Everything runs inside Shopify with full history. It's a great benefit for a new owner. This business is 100% online and can be operated from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.

Shopify is integrated with a fulfilment centre in Denmark, who handle all orders the same day to all EU countries. This process works on autopilot, so you don't have to pack and ship the orders inhouse.

Some examples of what's involved in running the business are ordering products from suppliers (Italy etc.), researching new product niches, create campaigns, send newsletters and running advertising campaigns. I only run ads on Google Shopping using the Shopify app (autopilot).

To handle orders to suppliers, we use the app Stocky by Shopify base on forecasting, and you will have full history from previous purchases. All products cost prices are registered on the products.

Most important is customer service. We use Help Scout with full history for all emails. Only 2-3 customer emails must be answered daily, mainly from Danish customers (can be answered in English if Danish is not an option).

    How to grow this business

    This business runs on the Danish market. In recent months, I have expanded with the Swedish and English languages. But I have not done any marketing yet.

    The business is selling coffee, accessories and maintenance coffee products for coffee machines. The coffee is imported from trusted suppliers in, e.g. Italy.

    Over the next five years, the new business owner should extend to other EU countries and heavily focus on Social Media Marketing, Google ads, maintaining customer service, and continuing to bring new products on the market.

    Danish language skills are an advantage, but not mandatory due to the Danish culture where everyone speaks and write English.

    The following domains are included: .eu, .dk, .se, .es and a few other local domains.

    Skills to have

    Facebook, Instagram and Google ad knowledge is ideal. Be willing to travel to the suppliers, eg. Italy to develop new products.
