Why this business was started

My first business started three years ago, just part-time while still working with my brother in a family business. I always wanted to run my business. After days of research, I found the electronic industry is booming, and it's only going to grow further in the coming years. Initially, this business was all about electronics accessories. After so much product testing and from sales data, we found phone cases and phone accessories to sell in this store. Phone cases are problem-solving evergreen products. People will always buy phone cases. We have sold thousands of phone cases in this store to USA based customers. 99% customers are from USA.

The reason of selling this business

I was working on two businesses not as easy as I thought. So I decided to sell this business and return to our family business full time.

What's involved in running this business

Product research, testing, finding a good supplier, and building goodwill has already been done. The only involvement in running this business is customer service, suppliers payments, adding new products. Fulfilment is automatic via the supplier app, and you have to make payments for orders. The advertising you do not need to do much. Google shopping ads don't require much work as social media ads do. You add your products to the Google merchant centre, start your campaign, and let Google find the customers for your business. You have to check your ad campaign performance from time to time.

  • Customers queries and support emails (10-30 minutes a day depending on the number of emails)
  • Order payments to the supplier (2 mins a day)
  • Tracking update is automatic once the order is fulfilled.
  • Google Ads performance check (5 minutes a day, once or once in two weeks)

    How to grow this business

    Most of our sales came from Google Ads Smart Shopping campaigns. Facebook advertising/retargeting, email marketing and SEO could increase the revenue. We have done some SEO work resulting in hundreds of organic sales. But more work needs to be done to its full potential for SEO traffic. Adding a new product category in the same niche could increase the revenue. 99% of our customers are from USA. Selling in global market could take this bussiness to next level.

    Skills to have

    Good communication skills and some Shopify backend system knowledge are all it takes to run this business. Just a few days of training all you need to learn everything.
