Business Story
Why this business was started
This business was started on the back of other sucessful shopify based, drop-shipping stores. The product type to attract shoppers with healthy budgets, selling products that are not seasonal with constant demand. The products can easily be sold without brand recognition. It was started as another way to make passive income and ended up a successful venture.
The reason of selling this business
I am investing my time into a private label online store and need to free up time to focus on this. This store was an excellent source of income during the pandemic and prior, but now that Australia is opening back up I am re-directing my time to my other businesses and interests.
This store would benefit highly by a social media presence, which is not yet existent. Social media is something I have personally never devled into, but this store is highly instagramable! I dont have the time or the will to manage and learn the ins and outs of social media and ultimately this is the bottleneck to this buisiness growing, so time has come to sell and move on.
What's involved in running this business
This business inlcudes fulfilling online orders through Oberlo/DSers, adding new products in accordance with the new trends (the current products are more than enough to keep you selling), maintaining advertising campaigns (google is on autopilot at the moment and rareley requires any changes) and answering emails. Currently emails are outsourced to a sub-contractor (Australian based) for 7 hours a week, which covers most emails. The daily time spent is under an hour, with about 2 hours of additional administration once per week.

Seller‘s Advice
How to grow this business
The store has been sucessfully and sustainably run profitably with a single source of advertising (google ads). Other advertising oppertunites such as social media are yet to be explored to open up the potential sales. I am not confident in Facebook/Instagram, Pinterest and Tiktok ads and with someone that has already experienced success using these other ad platforms I could see the business growing exponentially. Working with local suppliers for custom made products featuring customer names and details is a product area that was in the pipeline. Incorporating big budget items and one off purchases is also yet to be explored. Expanding the store to international markets has a huge potential, but I did not have the time to explore it with this store; however was successful with this strategy in other stores.
In short, I would reccomend the buyer do the following to maximise growth: 1. Expand the store internationally. 2. Advertise using various social media platforms. 3. Source custom made local products from artisans.
Skills to have
The store is running on autopilot at the moment, and in all honesty, with about 9 hours of work a week could continue to turn a healthy profit and make any new owner happy.
In saying this, skills that would help with expanding the advertising campaigns through social media, and social media skills in general (running a FB and Instagram page) would be ideal.
Anything else, like using Shopify, Oberlo or Emails I can show anyone with little e-commerce experience and isn't required knowledge.
