Why this business was started
I have had a passion for jewelry and accessories for years. I found leather a few years ago and realized what an amazing material it was for jewelry. I started making earrings for myself and my friends, and quickly had requests to sell. What started out as a side hustle has quickly become a full time business with sales over $100,000 a year and rising.
The reason of selling this business
While this has become a huge passion of mine, I have a full time job that I also love and I’ve realized that this brand could be even bigger in the hands of someone who has more time to devote to it. I have a built in audience and loyal customers, as well as daily new customers who become repeat customers. I have prepared this business to explode in 2022 and beyond! During a pandemic, when many shops were closing, we expanded into wholesale and are currently averaging $12-16,000 in sales (most on wholesale, not on shopify- when purchasing this brand, all wholesale comes with it as well). If I had the time I would start monthly subscription boxes, launch our own wholesale website (has been requested by current wholesale customers on the wholesale platforms we sell on), jewelry displays, and other products lines- all things my customers are requesting but I don’t have the time to provide currently.
What's involved in running this business
Sourcing leather (I have established vendors as well as vendors to make custom leather), cutting (by machine) and assembling earrings, listing items and shipping orders. Run social media (Facebook and Instagram). Manage Shopify and Etsy pages, along with wholesale sites (new in 2020) on Faire, FashionGo, Abound and LaShowroom.

How to grow this business
I would start a subscription box, which would be a constant steady revenue stream. I would add more exclusive designed leathers. I would sell more accessories, such as purses and other products for women. I have looked at making jewelry holders for the home and get asked a lot to sell them. In 2020 I began focused on wholesale off this website, and also opened a wholesale site on Shopify in 2021. I would also look at starting to use brand reps, reach out to bloggers and influencers, currently I don’t utilize them. I also don’t use paid advertising on any social media or other channels so I would see what I could do to advertise. I would also get modeled shots of all products, as well as partner with clothing boutiques to gain more exposure.

Basic computer knowledge. I don’t have any design background and most designs I made myself, or with help from my graphic design sister. Someone with design experience not required.
