Why this business was started

The thought of starting an e-commerce store came apparent during my digital marketing apprenticeship role. It then took 2 years of studying, researching and working before I actually decided to launch this current store. It was during the pandemic and I was working with a football agent so I had some extra time on my hands. I had the knowledge and practical skills but just needed to find an industry that I was passionate about and would enjoy but was also found as a challenge. I've always been into fitness and came across high selling women's activewear via Aliexpress and instantly knew I could build an activewear brand and market it. With the activewear niche, you can have a product that is an an essential item in a women's fitness wardrobe, similar to a white t-shirt, jeans, etc, our leggings are and will be needed for many years without going out of fashion. Women who go to the gym, are into fitness and even just want to improve their style, will always need leggings to allow them to look fab, feel confident and perform better.

We are based in the UK and wanted to solely focus on UK based customers.

The reason of selling this business

I want to focus on other projects that need my attention and build new projects that are in the works. I feel like I have taken the business as far as I possibly can and needs a new owner with fresh ideas who can take the business further.

Other details about profit: On the average monthly revenue graph, you can see a dip between June & August. The IOS14 update affected us badly and we believe this was the reason to the dip in sales so we reduced ad budget massively hence the low number of revenue. But we reacted and adapted accordingly by deciding to run Google Ads and this has definitely become our best paid advertising platform.     How to grow this business

    The growth potential for this store is so high but needs the right owner and vision to be able to take it there. In terms of marketing, with a boost in ad spend (Facebook ads & Google ads), you will see extreme growth in both revenue and profits. Facebook ads have worked great for us since the beginning with even better media assets (taking engaging images/videos) mixed with compelling ad copy, you'll be sure to grow even more. The biggest step I would say to scaling and becoming amongst the big brands in the women's activewear industry would be to buy stock in bulk and either outsource 3PL or keep logistics in house where you can deliver orders in less than 3 days.

    We've had good returns from nano influencers (1k-5k followers) but simply didn't have the time to work intensely with them because we spent most of our time doubling down on FB ads and Email. The influencer space for the women's activewear/fitness industry is getting bigger and better by the day and if you can be creative with how you can work with influencers to build brand awareness and sales, again, the potential in growth is massive especially if you can tap in to the TikTok market.

    We've tested Facebook Ads in the USA and were successful in converting cold traffic into paying customers. The activewear and fitness industry is a forever growing and evergreen niche, so if you wanted to branch off into the USA, the foundations are in place ready for you to proceed. We decided to stop because we just wanted to focus solely on the UK market.
