I am passionate about slow living, and purchasing in accordance with my personal values. My journey to a more "conscious" lifestyle introduced me to so many amazing artisans and brands, I felt inspired to share with others trying to live more sustainably.

I am looking to sell in order to spend more time on my personal health and other endeavours.

What's involved in running this business

It's really quite simple and almost runs on autopilot these days. I always have a small budget for targeted ads on social media - ad spend should definitely be increased to scale, but I have been happy where I am at, as I have no physical room for the shop to grow larger than it currently is. Social media posts at least 2-3 times a week is ideal for engagement, the occasional newsletter (I do not do this regularly, but would help growth), sourcing product, updating website, and packing orders to ship.

    Store is easily scalable by increasing ad spend, and investing more time on social media. The store is only 2.5 years old and has seen a 215% increase in sales over the past year.

    Skills to have

    Photography skills are an asset for any online shop, but everything can be learned with practice and as you go.

    A regular day includes checking/ordering stock, sourcing new product, packing orders, answering customer emails, and maybe some photography and a social media post.

    My best advice is to take full advantage of Shopify's many tutorials - they are free and they are a massive asset.
