Why this business was started
I decided to start this business as a fun and exciting project outside of my usual work hours. Setting up a store allowed me to be creative without restrictions in a way that my 9-5 job doesn't allow. Baking for the banners and photographing the end result was also gave me an excellent opportunity to bake, combining two different hobbies to make some money in my down time.
The reason of selling this business
Starting the store from the ground up was a very enjoyable process for me, and this is where my passion really lies. Selecting colours, fonts, texts, layouts etc is something that can really only happen in the initial stages and I would like to continue to build stores in the future, I do not have time to run the stores I create with the same enthusiasm. Although running the store brings me a constant income, I did not create the store to make money, but rather as a challenge to see if I could create a successful drop shipping store. In the process I have realised that the process of building a store from the ground up is where my true passion lies and although I promised myself I would run the store for a full year, that time has passed and I am itching to create another store in my spare time, rather than run one. This business is quite simple to run. It involves the daily processing of orders and replying to customer emails, If you can spare 30mins per day, you can continue to run and make a profit from this store. On a monthly basis it's required to spend another 1hr to tidy up out of stock products and optimise and tweak google ads. Emails have been mostly automated, and several email templates have been set up for the questions most frequently asked by the customers. It is a very easy store to maintain, and requires minimal time and effort. I have built this store as a drop shipping store and kept it as automated and passive as possible.

How to grow this business
If I was to keep the store over the next 5 years, I would implement a simple 3 step process. The first step would be to create and build a strong social media following on both facebook and instagram (leveraging a captured amount of over 2300 email contacts to grow rapidly). The second step, would be testing and advertising on these social media platforms through Facebook/Instagram and Pinterest ads. The third step once my ads were working on the social media platforms would be to put the combination of these ads and the already successful google ads and use the already purchased .com domain to advertise internationally.

There is no specific skills or knowledge I would recommend the new owner to have, as the store is at a stage where it is running itself. However, the new owner should have a general interest in baking, as this would help them keep up with the current baking trends.
