Why this business was started

I decided to start this business as I knew the automotive niche was an extremely passionate, engaged customer group. I know lots of people are happy to buy certain products for their cars in order to better it in one way or another. I also have a very reliable sourcing agent which was able to supply me these products at a great price (supplier included in sale).

Also the product is extremely broad therefore we are not restricted to a certain audience. Any age/gender can use this product which is the pure beauty of the store. Our product is an extreme wow factor which is amazing as word-of-mouth advertising is so powerful. I knew if we built an engaged customer list we can turn them into repeat customers by adding new automotive products regularly and creating hype around the store.

Using TikTok organic is one of the most powerful methods that e-commerce has seen. As there is no ad spend probability is so high. I knew from the start that this product would be amazing on TikTok and I was right considering the past week we have profited $28,000.

The reason of selling this business

As much as I would love to keep this store I have decided to sell it due to needing the cash in order to inject into my large business which is my main priority. In terms of size this is the smallest store I own. Using the capital from selling this store would greatly help my large business to grow.

This has definitely been the funnest store I have owned. As well as being one of the most profitable stores in a quick success. Like I said before there is no doubt that the store can reach $1 million in sales by the end of the year with the right marketing and person behind it. It’s going to be very sad to see the store go but it’s important I don’t get emotionally attached.

What's involved in running this business

The store is fairly automated which requires it to run very passively. However, the things I do to run the store are the following. All the email marketing is automated so every now and then I would run a campaign to my large email list such as a flash sale. However all the flows are automated meaning we bring back a lot of revenue this way from abandoned checkouts. Next, is communication with the supplier. They deal with all of the fulfillment and are super reliable. They send all our items out the next day. They use YunExpress which is one of the fastest Chinese to international shipping lines. Everything is quality controlled meaning customer satisfaction is maximum when it arrives. They deal with the whole fulfillment side which will be included in the sale.

The last thing would be making sure customers are happy via email ect.

Other details about profit: We have an extremely powerful upsell with a conversion rate of 5% which dramatically increases our AOV as well as profits. Also our email marketing produces 9% of our revenue which is amazing as it all automated through the Klaviyo app. Shopify has not calculated an additional $15,000 in sales. This was because our old quantity breaks app was generating some orders as drafts. Therefore shopify did not count it as an "online sale" even though came from our online website.

    How to grow this business

    The reason for drop in sales in July is due to prioritising the sale of the business. During this July we did post any videos however we still brought back $5k in sales. We have the full blueprint and process to create viral Tiktok videos which creates millions of views. We have noticed that around 5M video views brings back around $25k in revenue. As soon as videos start to get posted again then the sales would reflect! We can fully explain this to the new buyer on zoom.

    The past seven months of running the store I have created an engaged, loyal customer base with a great social media presence. I have discovered that the automotive niche is super passionate with keen buyers.

    We currently sell two products and one of them is our hero product. The best way to grow the store would be to add new products in the automotive niche. In the month of May we recently set up a TikTok organic page in which we advertised the product for completely free. Meaning there was no adspend as it was all organic posts. In the space of seven days we managed to turn over $42,000 with a straight 68% profit margin. Meaning we profited $28,000 in seven days. TikTok organic is going to be the best way to grow this store. As well in the past seven days we have built a following of 18,000 keen prospects. The profitability of this store is immeasurable, we have proven our product has a high demand.

    We have mainly marketed in the UK therefore this store has got so much potential to unlock in Europe, United States, Canada, Australia and so on. To think we have turned over nearly $100,000 in seven months and that’s only predominantly come from the UK shows you the potential this store has. I have no doubt that this store could reach seven figures by the end of the year. The majority of orders have come from the United Kingdom so if this product was being marketed in all the countries the profitability would be huge. The TikTok organic page is the goldmine to the business.
