General description

A UK based pool and snooker e-commerce store with 13 years trading history. Selling branded items from the world of pool and snooker that come from 3rd party manufacturers from within the UK, USA and Europe. Initially started in 2004 under a different trading name the business imported US style cues for the UK market, It soon transpired that the market was not as large as first hoped at least not at the high-end we were trying to provide at. So from then on the business developed to offer equipment for all types of pool and snooker players. Our largest market now would be snooker players. The Shopify store along with eBay and Amazon accounts are included in the sale as well as access to the social media account,

The business needs investment both in terms of SEO and also in terms of physical stock. Google rankings for key terms are good but stock holding needs investment in order for the business to reach its potential. There are options to create own brand products which allows greater control of margin. We have trialed this recently with a range of snooker cues.

The business has been trading for 13 years and since 2015 on Shopify. The current theme was launched with some custom coding in May 2018. There is a historical customer base, a small email list (after GDPR) plus stock and or drop-shipping from around 12 different suppliers

How to grow this business

We have a firm foothold within the UK market but table sales need to increase. Accessories and cues for export are also growth areas. We own domain names under the same brand for .us .ca. fr. es. be .de .uk .nl so the plan was originally to create stores in these locations specific to those marketplaces. All domain names would be transferred to the new owner. The biggest thing the business needs in order to grow is access to cashflow.

Skills to have

A working knowledge of the Billiards industry would be useful as customers do contact us with specific questions but a passion for e-commerce and quality customer service are all that are required as the other knowledge can be picked up very quickly.
