Why this business was started
This business was started to generate additional income! The pizza oven niche was selected because of the high average order value and the fact that they're becoming more and more popular. We've done research to discover competitors and potential suppliers, which we will provide to the buyer.
We bought this business from a partner about 2.5 years ago, who bought it from the guy who started it in 2017. We really liked the dropshipping aspect of it, the fact that we didn't need to house inventory, the average order value ($389) is high, the niche is great, and most importantly, the relationships with our suppliers are established and healthy.
The reason of selling this business
We have decided to sell the business because we just had another child and need to put our time into other ventures. We really enjoy the additional income every month, and there's so much potential with it, but we have too much on our plate for now.
What's involved in running this business
Honestly, there's not a ton. We've automated a few of the processes, so as an owner (or someone you hire), you will need to put in about 2-3 hours/week. Our highest volume supplier has orders automatically sent to them (through a system we implemented). They fulfill the order, charge our card on file, and send us the tracking number, which we put into Shopify (and automatically gets sent to the customer).
For many of our other vendors (high ticket items worth $1500+), we automatically email them when we get an order. For one of our vendors, we input the orders into their portal.
All fulfillment is taken care of by our suppliers. We essentially act as the middle man and communicate with the customers.
The only other things I personally do are maintain the site and do a spreadsheet for accounting. Occasionally, you will need to update pricing on the site when suppliers update.
Overall, my wife and I spend 2-3 hours/week on this business, total.

Personal support after saleWe will join you on weekly calls for 4 weeks following the acquisition. We will also give you all of the needed spreadsheets, pricing lists, passwords, and everything else we have. It will all be in the Google Workspace attached to our main email address, which will be transferred to the buyer as well. We will also make introductions to our suppliers via email.
Product photosAll of our product photos are uploaded into the product listings in Shopify and will be transferred with the transaction.
SuppliersWe have 7 current suppliers, who we will introduce you to as we transition the business over to you. These have been our best partners. We have had past partnerships with others. We have information on 14 suppliers that we have worked with, and 12 additional potential targets.
How to grow this business
There is plenty of room to grow the store, and bring on new vendors. We have a handful of excellent partners, but they are focused on pizza ovens, tools and grains. We would suggest getting a new vendor (or multiple) in the outdoor living and fire pits industries. These are two new verticals that could bring in additional revenue and cash flow, when coupled with our recognized brand and customer-base.
We would also suggest looking into other sources of advertising. Currently, we solely use Google Ads. But Facebook Ads, Duck Duck Go, Bing and other social media might be worth pursuing.
The original owner (whose contact info we can give the buyer) started a Facebook page (167 followers) that exists, but hasn't had posts recently. There was also an Instagram page at one point, but no longer active. These are both opportunities.
On the note of Google Ads, we've been running the ads ourselves for the past 6 months and seen a large decrease in visitors (to around 1/4), so it might be worth looking into an agency to manage this for you. We are happy to provide you with the agency we used last year.
Some of our processes could still be automated.
Another potential opportunity is updating the design of the product page (especially for our pizza ovens). Many of our competitors have more helpful summaries up top. We will provide you with a list of our biggest competitors.
Another opportunity is to utilize our Klaviyo subscription to start sending out a newsletter and/or SMS to those in our lists. We haven't done this, but it would be a good opportunity to make repeat buyers.
