Why this business was started
As a full time med student I needed an income source to support myself through college. That's how I got started with ecommerce. Prior creating this business, I built and sold another brand in the sport-fashion niche. Since two of my biggest passions were sport (I'm a gym freak) and fashion, I decided to built a pure fashion business next. That's how this business was created.
The reason of selling this business
The decision of selling did not come easy, as it's been my income source and my occupation for more than 2 years. I have recently started working on a large scale SaaS project which requires my full attention and also a large injection of capital to launch to market.
What's involved in running this business
Most of the business is automated, so the tasks only I usually do are managing the team (freelancers), maintaining contact with suppliers and running Facebook Ads.

How to grow this business
Here are some of the opportunities I would explore:
Private label more item categories (now we have white labeled items from 2 main suppliers: footwear and bags) and start pushing them into the market via a synchronized influencer marketing strategy and paid ads. This can lead to a snowball effect and therefore a steady and organic growth of the brand.
Hire a fashion designer and launch a clothing collection. You can use the influencer marketing and also Facebook/Instagram Ads with the help of the highly targeted custom audiences we’ve created based on traffic and email subscribers. This can set the brand apart from competitors and increase its visibility / notoriety.
Start selling items in physical retail locations
Offer distribution opportunities to clothing retailers. (wholesale opportunity)
Adding new quality items/suppliers and test the items with Facebook/Instagram ads.
Selling branded items. We had a contract for reselling designer clothes with brandsgateway.com, but it expired in April. They ship items worldwide and they have highly discounted prices. Can earn a lot by selling high ticket items. Another great platform for selling branded items is brandsdistribution.com We’ve had a 1 month subscription with them but because they don’t offer Shopify integration we’ve had a hard time syncing stocks and importing items. They provide an API so there’s the possibility to develop an API and they connect their platform to our store. They ship items to EU countries and US from brands such as: Calvin Klein, Chloé, DC Comics, Diesel, Dolce & Gabbana, Dsquared2, Gant, Guess, Jack & Jones, Just Cavalli, Kenzo,Lacoste, Levi's, Marvel, Moschino, Napapijri, Philipp Plein, Pierre Cardin, Plein Sport,Puma, Star Wars, The North Face, Timberland, U.S. Polo, Valentino, Vans, Versace. If choosing to sell branded items I would focus heavily on Google Shopping and AdWords Ads, since people look all the time for specific brand items.
Working with an affiliate marketing platform to promote the brand and products. By offering a percentage of each sale to the affiliates and they do the heavy lifting for us, acquiring new customers. They can bring a steady traffic source from various sources such as social, organic, email, display networks. Referral marketing. Install a referral software and build referral campaigns in order to incentivize customers to promote our brand to their network in exchange for points or cash. This will lead to a higher conversions rate and revenue, since personal recommendations are so powerful.
Reward program. For each purchase they will receive points that can be exchanged for products. This can lead to an increased AOV (average order value) and also repeat customer rate. Bold Apps provide such an app for Shopify. Youtube marketing. Outreach to Youtubers and send them our best selling items to review and promote on their channels. Those videos can afterwards be used for Facebook/Instagram advertising. This will lead to an organic growth and higher conversion rates, as customers will start trusting the brand more.
Instagram pages marketing. Pay per post on Instagram pages with large followings which are connected to fashion/lifestyle niche. This will drive qualified traffic, increase brand awareness and increase Instagram following, which can be later monetized through more aggressive Instagram strategy.
SEO optimization. Done professionally, this can increase the organic traffic, sales and visibility in search engines.
Google Shopping ads. Google Shopping ads can be a good source of quality traffic, as the users are already searching for specific items such as sneakers or bags.
12.Pinterest ads. The competition is low and the users are highly engaged, warmed up for shopping.
Snapchat ads. The audience is mostly millennials, so it would fit to our target audience. Competition is minimal so it’s an interesting platform to test. Mobile apps promotions. Sending regular push notifications to mobile apps users can increase customers repeat rate. This service is free.
SMS marketing. We have good results with SMS for cart recovery. Phone numbers are collected for each customer, so SMS for marketing can be another good traffic source to explore especially for promotional blasts around holidays.
Content marketing. Creating a blog and posting on a regular basis can increase organic traffic and conversion rate (it builds trust). This can be easily outsourced to a freelancer.
Skills to have
Knowing how to use a computer and operate in various applications such as: Google Docs, Shopify. Experience with online advertising platforms such as Facebook and Google would be an advantage.
