OUR STORE WAS CHOSEN AS THE EXCHANGE MARKETPLACE STAFF PICK!!

So let me take you back a few years to 2016 & 17. Those were probably 2 of the most turbulent years of my life to date. Without going into too many details lets just say I experienced some extreme highs like the birth of my first daughter and some extreme lows like going without pay for nearly 3 months and all the difficulty that comes with that. I went through soo many peaks and valleys in those 2 years that I just felt nauseous. So one afternoon my wife and I were taking a walk around our neighborhood and were just reflecting on some of the wins and losses we've been experiencing and then out of nowhere a phrase came to my mind clear as day. That phrase was, "I would venture to say that at worst and even at best this thing we call life is a beautiful struggle." It was like a bomb went off in my brain and all I could think was if that doesn't sum up the story of my life I don't know what does. As a matter of fact, if that doesn't ring true for soo many people I know I don't know what does! When I look around me all I see is beauty, all I see is pain. We all have things we're struggling with and yet we smile through it. It was at that moment I wanted to create something that in a way pays homage to that struggle, pays homage to this life, and the concept of A Beautiful Struggle Clothing was born. The reason of selling this business

2020 was truly the perfect storm. Between the unplanned birth of my second daughter and having to start a new career because of the fallout of COVID, I no longer have the necessary time and resources to continue to build the brand. Outside of the entertainment and hospitality industries the retail and apparel industries were severely hit due to this global pandemic. I've invested $45,000 into this business to create something truly custom and unique. I paid attention to every detail even down to the custom black shipping boxes and the custom packing tape. Because of that I feel like I owe it to the brand to pass it on to someone who can truly give it the attention it deserves to take the brand to the next level.

What's involved in running this business

The brand does require daily attention but it doesn't require much. An hour to 2 hours max per day is all that's truly needed to keep the business running. Your daily responsibilities will primarily include posting on Facebook and Instagram. It is recommended to post at least 1 pic a day on both platforms. Your other daily responsibility will revolve around picking, packing, & shipping customer orders. The amount of time that takes will obviously depend on the number of orders that need to be fulfilled.

Outside of your daily responsibilities you will need to plan for releases depending on how often you wish to drop a new release. Some brands drop a new design every week, others due every month, and other due seasonal releases. The good thing is I have at least 10 pieces in my "bank" of designs so you essentially don't need to worry about coming up with new designs for quite some time.

If easier and if possible, I can attempt to transfer ownership of the DropBox account to the new owner as I have 17GB of data in there pertaining to A Beautiful Struggle, Inc.

    How to grow this business

    If I had the time and the resources, here are some of the things I would do to grow the brand: 1. Continue to invest in the social media strategy. After signing on with Ampfluence to grow our Instagram business account we have seen a steady increase in followers, engagement, and customers. Ampfluence likes, views stories, & follows/unfollows targeted accounts on the brands behalf. 2. Re-brand the Facebook profile and cover photo. I would also start tagging products in each post.
    3. Signup to opensponsorships.com. That platform allows you to engage with athletes of all levels to promote/market your brand. 4. Try to get my products listed on Amazon to bring further exposure. 5. Add an app like ReferralCandy to the website in order to increase customer referrals. 6. Hire an intern to manage all marketing and content creation. 7. Use an app like Handshake or Carro to expand product offering by collaborating with similar brands to sell their products on my site and vice versa. 8. Post on Facebook and Instagram on a daily basis, at least once per day. 9. Reach out to potential brand influencers to promote/market the brand. 10. Sign on brand ambassadors in key markets to promote the brand. 11. Consistently advertise on Facebook & Instagram.

    Skills to have

    The new owner should have a good understanding of the apparel industry and what to expect when engaging/working with manufacturers. The new owner should also know how to navigate Facebook's Ad Manager to create ads. The good news is, the manufacturers I work with are very friendly and helpful and I can provide the templates I used when providing them with information. In terms of Facebook's Ad Manager, as a member of the Shopify community you get access to Shopify Academy with a multitude of videos on how to create ads and grow your e-commerce business.
