Why this business was started

I decided to start this business 7 years ago because I have a passion for the automotive domain. I love cars and they're a big part of my life. I was always an entrepreneur and never wanted to work for anyone. E-commerce was pretty much new at that time, even tho it existed for even more years, it was starting to get popular and I wanted to jump on the boat.

The reason of selling this business

In 2022, we surpassed previous year's numbers. Last year (2020) and this year (2021) had been amazing we've reached almost 268% of the previous year in revenues. I made a lot of money in cryptocurrencies and NFT's. I, now, have the time achieve one goal that matters a lot for me : my studies. I wanna finish my studies and invest in real estate. I like new challenges and it's time for me to move on to a new challenge.

What's involved in running this business

You have to manage your inventory and make orders in China. You can either ship directly from China or from your warehouse. We ship directly from Montreal. Then, when you have orders, you need to fulfill them and send the packages to your customers according to what they bought. We have a lot of Ford dealerships with whom we do business on a monthly basis, they order through the phone or email and we send the packages. That's pretty much it. We are sponsors or several car enthusiast Facebook groups such as F-150 or Dodge RAM'S Owners group in the USA, in Canada or Quebec itself. We make an ad about once every month, customers then follow links and order on the website. Our marketing company manages Google and Facebook ads. We have 1-800 phone line which has phone calls every hour (about 10 per hours) you need to answer those calls and guide customers with prices, references or make orders over the phone. We receive emails from big names such as Ford dealerships who make their orders, you need to create orders and ship them.

This business gives you access to the majority of Ford dealerships in Quebec, Canada. Also to one big car parts distributor which we're going to disclose to future buyer.

    How to grow this business

    We would invest more and develop better ads that target a lot more people. We have just started targeting the American and European markets. We are in discussion with major car parts companies and they are interested into selling our products across Canada (meeting is scheduled in the second week of march). It's a huge market, with a lot of competition. We would also like to sell on Amazon which according to the marketing company we do business with will double or even triple our yearly numbers.

    Skills to have

    Everything is pretty much easy to learn. We have access to many databases that can guide you on what kind of bulbs goes on what vehicle. It would take a few hours for someone to learn everything, we're here to help to make it easier. My suppliers speak english : voice & text. The customers we deal with in Quebec speak both English and French. The rest of customers all speak english.
