Why this business was started

I have several websites and was curious to try something in the baby niche - as it's SUCH a popular niche with so many potential customers. I actually really enjoyed finding products to list and making sure that, while shipping times could be a bit longer (due to the products being dropshipped), customers would be really happy they had decided to shop with us.

The reason of selling this business

I simply don't have the time needed to grow this store alongside my other, busier websites. It's a shame as I really think this store could grow but I have had a small brand for a few years now, as well as a couple of other sites, and it's just too much to focus on.

I had to put a value of how many hours I dedicate to the business a week below, which is currently 0 as I have left it idling and turned the ads off after the first 2/3 months - if you were to make this a success I would recommend at least 10 hours a week to keep finding/listing products and managing your ads.

I also had to put a profit figure below which doesn't really add up because Shopify takes into account the 7 months that the store has been idling. Profit was about 15-20% but could grow with better marketing and perhaps increasing the product prices by $2-3 each.

What's involved in running this business

Orders are fulfilled by AliExpress and Oberlo - very simple and quick to do.

Baby clothes are an ongoing, never ending requirement but just make sure you pick out the ones that are higher quality and they'll really stand out. Not too many slogans and cheap prints - pick nicer fabrics, more classic designs. And make sure that the AliExpress reviews are positive - 4.5 stars+.

Facebook ads have been the only source of traffic for this store so far, but Instagram influences and SEO could really give it a boost. I even had a few sales straight from Google with no effort put into SEOing the store - shows you would could happen with a little more effort there!

    How to grow this business

    The store needs more products added. These baby product stores work really, really well with a large catalog of well organised products. I didn't have the time or commitment to keep adding but make sure you pick products that fit with the current theme - white background photos only!

    With more products and continuing with Facebook ads this website will keep growing.
