Concept and Implementation: Founder & CEO Karen Mackay started with an idea and a full-time commitment in the Summer 2015. Having produced catalogs for a major US & International Catalog retailer early in her career, then working with her own Interior Design firm, as a Real Estate Agent and in Product Sales for years, Mackay was determined to create an online retail ‘lifestyle’ business. Seeing a real opportunity in the niche of ‘Coastal’ living she imagined a ‘Coastal Lifestyle’ brand that would feature both Clothing + Home Decor influenced by both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Being a dual citizen of the USA and Ireland (where she earned her MBA), she determined that Dublin with its strong tech industry, was the best place to formulate the concept and development of just such a company brand. Based on the experiences of many years of travel and with design influences from both sides of the Atlantic, Mackay wanted that unique combination of International style and ‘Coastal’ branding. It began with hiring one of Brown Thomas’ top Irish graphic designers to help develop a brand name and logo that had both a purposeful European, Natural & Coastal ‘feel’. In hiring a web creation team in Ireland and using Shopify as the online store platform, Mackay was able to develop something both Coastal and International in influence, balanced with a practical and economical approach. Two and a half years from ideation, brand creation, website development and product/vendor selection to Corporate, Legal and Logistical operations being set up in Florida. Launching the website in late 2016 and releasing WA’s first catalog in May 2017. In partnering with C&G Media Group in the Spring/Summer 2017, WA’s first print and digital ads were featured. Thus began the process of pitching the [PRIVATE INFO] brand as ‘designs for living beautifully and affordable luxury combined’ to its niche market. [PRIVATE INFO] now has 9,700+ followers on it's Facebook page and over 930 email subscribers. It has established complimentary Social Media sites on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and LinkedIn, which are positioned to further expand and grow sales for the business more effectively by someone who is Social Media savy and who can capitalize on the Facebook following with more effective advertising.

Sales were slow to start at the inception of the business but by establishing Amazon Seller Accounts for the US, Canada, Mexico, UK, Germany, Spain, France, and Italy we have recently seen a marked increase in sales since September 2017 and are we getting more sales through our Facebook advertising which we have been concentrating on specifically for the last 6 months. With her own personal investment of capital for set up, marketing and the purchase of current stock etc, as well as, two and a half years of full time management and fostering, Mackay is determined to find someone to take over the brand and website and grow it using a more specific approach to Social Media use while she focuses on product development.

Our sales and profits grew exponentially from September 2017 to date, as we listed items for sale on Amazon as well as increasing our Social Media Advertising at that time. The quoted Sales Revenue above is incorrect. For the 12 months from May 7, 2017 to May 6, 2018 our Gross sales are: $32,076; Net Sales: $22,735 with Profit of $11,451 and 244 Sales with a margin of 50.34% for the 12 months. The last 8 months of that period was 92% of the sales for the whole year. The first 4-6 months period prior to that was only representative of a small portion of sales as we were launching the company website. We have been selling online for 18 months in total and only for the last 8 months with Amazon, which is currently 60% of our overall sales for those 8 months.

Business Expenses

We have been spending more on Facebook Ads and some Google Ads over the last 6 months to grow our Facebook following to the 10,000 level. We are almost there. We will then do more targeted advertising and reduce this amount. We have found through trial and error that this Facebook spend along with selling on Amazon is the most cost effective advertising.

It costs $325 a month for fulfillment & storage which includes fulfilling 20 orders. It is $5 for every order after the initial 20 each month. Generally with storage, fulfillment and bookkeeping fees, the spend is approximately $500 a month to the logistics person in Florida. The current cost of the inventory (per item not including shipment costs to warehouse) is $75,511 with a current retail value (including the associated discounts offered) of $171,363. This includes 2,879 pieces from 324 individual items. The Sales Price of the company does not include the value of the stock which will be sold per negotiation with a potential buyer.

Do you work with any employees, freelancers, or contractors?

Warehoused stock is Located in Deerfield Beach, Florida and our Logistics Manager oversees luxury level fulfillment of orders, storing/managing the stock and doing bookkeeping for the business. The logistics/bookkeeping contractor is paid on a consulting/contractor basis, approximately $500 a month which includes storage fees for stock.
