I have always been intrigued with e-commerce and decided I wanted to put together an online retail store that would offer awesome graphic designs on multiple different items. With print on demand I can offer hundreds of items and designs with no hard cost inventory! I started off with t-shirts and then added some hoodies, tanks, and hats. In order to keep it simple and less work I currently have all of my items through Printiful and they do everything once a customer places an order - everything is automated. I have learned a lot about print on demand and there is a huge opportunity to make a ton of money without any inventory or risk.

My time spent on the site has not been substantial enough. I have a full time job that I love and this site is not getting the attention it needs. If someone can spend the time to advertise and drive more traffic to the site the potential is huge!
What's involved in running this business
There are really three main steps to run the business: (1) Add print on demand items to the store through Printiful. (2) Advertise, promote through social media, and drive traffic to the site. (3) Fulfillment of orders. Once a customer purchases an item through the store it is set to automatically fulfill the order. Printiful creates the order, ships it to the customer, and handles any returns.
When Printiful ships out an item the label and packing slip have the Fanatical Threads logo and information - but the shipped from address and return address are to one of Printifuls warehouses. So if a customer needs to return - Printiful will handle it! You literally have nothing to do with inventory or any of the print on demand items.
Driving traffic is the most important aspect to increase sales. Some examples of how this can be done are: free posts on the social media sites, paid ads through Facebook, Instagram, Google Ads, and Pintrest, creating a mailing list, and starting a blog. There are other ways to drive traffic as well and this is the key to building up the sales funnels!
Once you start driving the traffic into the store and get sales, Printiful does the rest of the work! This truly is an amazing set up that can produce a lot of income.

How to grow this business
There is a TON of opportunity to grow this store. We currently have over 200 t-shirts available (over 500 more designs need added) for purchase and have only added a few hoodies, tanks, and hats. I would expand the hoodies, tanks and hats selections but also begin to add other items such as: joggers, sports bras, zip up hoodies, jackets, bags, etc. Take the top selling t-shirt designs and add them onto other items. There is a huge opportunity to add multiple products with all of our current graphic designs. On top of the current 200 designs we have over 500 more designs that have not yet been added.
Skills to have
We currently do all of our items through Printiful - so understanding how to utilize their product creation is very important. Also need to have the knowledge of managing multiple social media outlets, creating ads and images for products, and driving traffic to the site.
