Why this business was started

I started this business with hopes of creating a side income (took a course on dropshipping). Plus I love animals and don't see much in the way of animal jewelry all in one place.

The reason of selling this business

I've spent more on ads than anything. I stopped trying after about 3 months (I am aware it takes longer to build a long term brand/business). In addition, I started working again and no longer had time to build it up. I believe it has potential - especially email marketing wise (has almost 150 subscribers). I also have a 3rd party theme applied.

What's involved in running this business

Running advertising campaigns, building the brand, researching well made jewelry from suppliers. I was using eProlo in China to consolidate orders into one warehouse/have faster shipping times. Writing great product descriptions.

    How to grow this business

    In order to grow the store over the next five years, I would recommend getting a sample of each product you have on the site to determine if it is something you want to sell. Because this is a dropshipping store, you have no control over the quality of products since they are never seen. You may also want to try to find a more local jewelry supplier to create faster shipping times, although I have not had any issues with using eProlo and U.S. Express shipping. Connecting with customers, especially those that have subscribed to the email list are essential in creating repeat or potential sales.

    Skills to have

    Know how to market and build a brand. Learning the correct audience to market to is essential in making sales, in addition to knowing how to conduct test ads to determine whether or not it would be a hot product. Jewelry is a popular niche that is growing, but it requires having a great brand. Taking a dropshipping course may prove helpful if you have no knowledge of the industry. Having great writing skills to create product descriptions that sell, and knowing how to edit/build the website is important.
