Business Story

Why this business was started

I found that in the yoga mats world there was a gap. Good quality natural rubber mats were usually plane and boring, and the microfiber printed mats were a lot more exciting but poor quality. Artletica yoga mats combine great design and quality with a unique technology developed by our manufacturing partners.

The reason of selling this business

I was never able to invest the time it needed to sell a lot of volume. I know the potential is there but a number of personal commitments took priority.

What's involved in running this business

This business like most eCommerce businesses will involve fulfilling orders, ordering from suppliers, and running advertising campaigns. With that said, we have everything set in place where fulfillment is automatic, quick and reasonably priced. Suppliers are available to ship new product and advertising is the one component that has to be brought to the table.

This business was founded: almost 4 years ago
Time to run this business: approximately 1 hour per week

Other details about profit: Just to clarify these numbers, our sales are minor because we never really implemented an extensive strategy and didn't really know what we were doing (for the lack of better term), so with proper plan I think you can be looking at a 30% margin. A lot of the sales were also not on Shopify, they were on Amazon (4.6 stars with 35 reviews) and wholesale.

The transfer would be done in a simple fashion where I will provide passwords or admin right to the new owner.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

I would introduce effective multichannel marketing strategy and perhaps new products to up-sell.

I started Artletica 3 years ago through a Kickstarter campaign when I saw a niche in the yoga mats market that I was hoping to fill. Due to personal circumstances I was not able to get fully involved with the business so at this point I would love to pass it on into good hands, give it to someone who can really blow it up.

    Why use Exchange?

Exchange is the largest and fastest-growing marketplace for Shopify e-commerce stores

    Verified listing data

The revenue and traffic data that you see on each listing is pulled directly from its Shopify account. This means that the data has been verified. Exchange reviews and monitors listings for thorough and accurate information.

    Secure messaging platform

You will be able to communicate with sellers via a secure messaging platform. After you log in and request information from a listing, sellers are notified and have the ability to respond. When you are ready, you can make an offer.

    Encrypted payment capture

Exchange and Escrow.com have partnered together to provide you with safe transactions that have bank encryption, making sure that payment is securely captured. Escrow.com ensures that its users pass verification checks before transactions can proceed.

Take time to inspect the business

Once you submit payment to Escrow.com and the payment has been secured, the funds are held until you confirm that all assets received are as negotiated. You can use the inspection period to ask the seller any extra questions about the business.

    Safe store transfer

When the transaction is finalized, the dedicated migration team at Exchange will begin the process of making you the new owner of the store. Buyers and sellers will be notified via an email from the Exchange team once store transfers have been completed.

    Post-purchase 24/7 Shopify support

Once you log into your Shopify account for the first time and choose a subscription plan, Shopify Support Gurus are available 24/7 to help you with the settings of the store.
