Business Story

Why this business was started

This brand was born to inspire others live out a minimalist lifestyle and proactively choose cruelty-free materials to bring us all a sense of joy, contribution and purpose. Our main products are vegan, cruelty-free handbags to help put a stop in the killing of animals for genuine leather.

The reason of selling this business

I have actively ran ads to this store beginning February 2019, the brand has grown and consistently growing. Although the reason why I'm selling this business is that I'm settling down and I need funds for a house downpayment.

I am currently communicating with potential distributors and resellers, this is a good indication that there is still a large room for growth for this kind of business. Another reason for selling this business is that I have started to build a new store and it is quite time consuming to produce video content for marketing so I would need more time in my hands.

What's involved in running this business

The website is already in place and all the leg work has been done. No more product research and market research.

Target market is - female, Vegan or loves animals, willing to invest $50 or more for a handbag. Moreover, products have been curated to make sure to only offer good quality products which retails from $40-84. People all over the world are becoming more and more environment conscious and the Vegan market industry is growing exponentially year after year.

The new owner can continue to hire the VA that I have to fulfill orders, handle returns and answer customer queries. However, I suggest that he/she should be hands-on in running advertising campaigns in Facebook and Instagram. Email marketing would also be very beneficial. I would suggest to run a weekly newsletter for the subscribers.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

    • The new owner can do the ff. to build a stronger brand and create sustainable sales month per month a. partner more with social media influencers to promote the product. b. incorporate new handbag designs to attract wider markets. c. produce a variety of video and photo content to attract new customers and keep current customers d. create a loyalty program for current customers e. keep costs down by ordering straight from manufacturers f. collaborate with known designers to uplift brand image and create a sense of exclusivity

    Skills to have

The new owner doesn't have to have specific skills since everything has been set into place already. However, it's still best that the new owner has basic knowledge in running ad campaigns through Facebook and Instagram. This has been the key factor to early success of this brand. He or she must also be willing to communicate with micro and macro influencers in the industry to keep the brand from growing.

Other skills are pretty much administrative work and can be outsourced - e.g. order fulfilment, answering customer emails, managing social media accounts.
