Why this business was started

I decided to start the business because I wanted to create a successful online store as I always wanted create my own physical boutique in the past. I did substantial research into what is trending, experiencing growth and would be a winning industry. I saw a potential in women's fashion accessories and scarves were something that drew my attention as they are something that are worn everyday doesn't matter of the season (both winter scarves and summer bandanas & silk scarves).

I have decided to sell Aurum because I am currently focusing on other online projects and need Aurum to be run by someone who is more dedicated and is into growing fashion related business.

What's involved in running this business

I have put a substantial amount of hours into the business so that you won't have to. Outside of order fulfillment, advertising, email marketing, posting to IG regularly the business runs itself.

I am a big fan of content marketing therefore since the first day I have established really close relationships with Aurum customers/members. We are basically like a big growing family that are based all around the World.

Other details about profit: Our first year we made $16k in revenue with 1700 orders, only focusing on a free plus shipping offer in order to build our list. The store's recent average revenue is less because I am no longer advertising it. There is huge potential to raise profit margins by raising the average order value and reducing advertising costs. The main attention for Aurum's sales are coming from instagram influencers and Instagram bot that I have been using since the beginning to bring free traffic basically. My main paid ad strategy is only based on FB Retargeting ads.

    How to grow this business

    Aurum has so much potential. You have an opportunity to expand your product offering. The store is currently focusing on one main product (Melody Elegant Scarf) but depending on season you can offer the other products on store including Cashmere and other Silk Scarves. I definitely do believe that there is a huge opportunity when it comes to scarf products especially that are from silk material from my personal experience on this industry. There is also an option to target those who are interested in starting a scarf related accessory business by offering classes you can download, as well as starting a blog. The utilization of a click funnel would be especially profitable.

    Aurum Scarves is a great investment as the women's fashion industry is growing on a daily basis. Your customers are buying a product that they fall in love with quality and re-order time and time again unlike other industries. There is a potential to offer a subscription service or even a subscription box on a yearly basis.

    Unlike some other stores, Aurum is an actual brand. We have had success marketing to Australia, New Zealand and the United States as well. We haven't even begun to penetrate the market. Over the next five years Aurum Scarves can be a known International Brand on the level of even the most known scarf related stores. The fashion industry is over a billion dollar industry projected to grow substantially over the next five years.

    Even though our scarves currently are not branded, that hasn't stopped our customers from falling in love with our product. I would suggest branding and focusing on micro Instagram influencers for the future.

    Skills to have

    I would suggest having knowledge of Facebook advertising or employing someone. Social media and email marketing would also be beneficial. But in any case I will do my best to provide all the necessary information.
