Why this business was started

As three siblings, our favorite activity is discovering new trails with friends and family. We've always been ready for outdoor activities and were excited to bring our love for cycling, fitness, and adventure to others. Starting this business took time, dedication, and lots of research to ensure we curated only the best products for our community. Our passion for athletics and our customers made all the late nights, early mornings, and lack of sleep worth it!

The reason of selling this business

We are selling this business because we no longer have the time to do this business justice and we want to see this business develop and grow. Our customers resonate with our brand and we've built a cycling community through it. We want to sell this to someone who has the time and dedication to continue what we've started.

What's involved in running this business

The potential of this business and brand are endless. You can scale up this business through facebook ads, instagram ads, the use of influencers, and blogs. The more time you put into it the more revenue you'll generate.

While we stopped running ads and working on this business in August, this is what was involved in the day-to-day operations in July:

1) customer service (about 1 hour a week). This involves replying to customers' questions (through email) about shipping times, our products, and our company. There have been little to no issues regarding customer service as those who have purchased our products have been very satisfied.

2) Fulfillment (takes about 1-2 hours a week or less). This is fairly automated with oberlo (where we get most of our products).

3) Running & setting up ads (about 1 hour each week with facebook ads). These are easy to set up, and we'd review our ads once a day (for about 5 mins) to increase budget spend on the ads that were performing well (and cut the ads that were not.) These tasks were divided by three people, but could be done by 1 person easily.

In terms of website maintenance, we don't spend any time on this on a weekly basis. We designed our website and it works well and resonates with our customers, with automated process in place (such as the discount coupon to encourage conversions). There's no need to spend time on this.

    How to grow this business

    Over the next five years, we would: 1) Develop a network of influencers and affiliates. There are plenty of free tools out there to support you in doing this. Based on similar stores, we estimate this could account for 20% of your total income; 2) Build up the stores' blog and/or hire bloggers. You'll see that we've given you a great start. We'd encourage you to write more about cycling trails and cycling tips; and 3) Scale up facebook ads and test other ad platforms. We primarily used facebook ads and there are many opportunities to build awareness and generate more sales through other platforms such as pintrest.

    We have a few other suggestions that we will pass onto the new owner, including how to do the suggestions above.

    The new owner should have a willingness to learn about ecommerce and advertising platforms (or the ability to contract out these tasks).
