Why this business was started

I started the business after having my own daughter I couldn't find fashionable high quality shoes for her and saw a gap in the market. I have a background in Marketing and have worked on this part time while raising my young toddler.

We only started the business in July so please take our Shopify averages shown here with a pinch of salt as it takes an average over the year but we have only been live for 7 months. In January we saw £6.5k sales and 17,000 visits. Our Shopify sales also doesn't take our Not On The High Street and Wholesale profits in to account.

Full training can be given and all contacts supplied to run the business. I will make myself available through Zoom and Email for 1 month after sale, and more if needed, to guide you through all our content, processes and relationships.

We currently have 400 pairs of shoes in stock with a retail value of £9-10k which can also be purchased if wanted.

The reason of selling this business

My husband has been offered a new job in Dubai so we will be moving. As our customer and follower base is in the UK it doesn't make sense for me to run from the Middle East. Also I currently hold all the inventory in my spare room but do not have the space to do so in Dubai.

What's involved in running this business

I work with our Chinese and Ukraine manufacturers on designing new lines (doesn't require previous knowledge, I can train on the process), researching new style ideas, ordering from these manufacturers, running our Instagram and Facebook channels, optimising and creating paid social advertising, organising product photography, ordering and designing packaging, picking and packing all orders daily from home, book-keeping, customer enquiries, website improvements.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

    Paid Social Advertising - We only started investing in this in December, with all our sales previously coming through organically through Instagram. January saw sales grow by 50% since introducing Instagram and Facebook advertising so there's a lot of opportunity for growth and optimisation.

    Wholesale - We currently supply to 5 small UK retailers even in the current climate with no retail stores open and no trade show visibility and have received 10 enquiries about wholesale this month alone. There is a lot of potential for growth to work with international wholesale agencies, attend trade shows and proactively contacting retailers.

    Organic Growth Social Following - Instagram drives the majority of our traffic and continually grows as our follower rates do, having grown 14k Instagram followers in 9 months there is a lot of potential for growth.

    Retargeting Email Flows - Apart from a couple of basic emails we do not yet have true email flows in place and with a returning customer rate of 4% there is a lot of opportunity to improve returning customer rates and improve retargeting.

    Sizing and Style Improvements - We began the business selling soft soled baby shoes for pre-walkers, however we recently launched hard sole options for toddlers up to 3 years which we significant growth opportunity in and where we see the majority of our sales.

    Margin Growth by increasing order quantities - Prices reduce the more inventory you purchase with our Chinese and Ukraine suppliers to increase margins. There's also the option to try new cheaper manufacturers.

    No skills required, full training will be given as well as all contacts but an understanding of social media and potentially the baby market would be an advantage
