Business Story

Why this business was started

Major change in the world starts with businesses and consumers. I wanted to start a business that would have a positive impact on the world. One of the main issues that our world faces today the climate crisis. That being said, consumers are becoming more progressive and environmentally focused with their purchases, which is why bamboo toilet paper is becoming a huge alternative to regular tree-made toilet paper. 27,000 trees are being flushed down the toiler per day, which is not sustainable and I think letting consumers know this will be a huge selling point.

The reason of selling this business

I unfortunately don't have the time or funding to take on this endeavor right now with bills, student loans, and other medical expenses.

What's involved in running this business

Website management, order management/shipping, and Marketing are the main endeavors of running this business. I have the inventory stored with a cheap 3PL partner who can ship for you when you receive orders through Shopify or Amazon. They can also deliver orders to the 5 local stores that Bampoo is sold at in the Greater Nashville Area.

This business was founded: almost 3 years ago
Time to run this business: approximately 10 hours per week

Other details about profit: This business could be highly profitable if marketing is ramped up and if the owner has enough capital to purchase bulk inventory. Prices of inventory and shipping is cheaper when more rolls are purchased. I haven't ran any ads due to lack of capital so the recent growth in sales has been from organic social media posts and being featured on websites/blogs. Revenue featured in the listing doesn't reflect Amazon sales.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

I would focus on SEO optimization, Obtaining press, Paid ads through FB/Google, & work on getting distribution to establish partnerships with big retailers. This category is growing as one of my competitors recently launched in Target and another competitor raised $3 million from Robert Downey Jr.

    Skills to have

Marketing, Brand Development, E-commerce Experience, Paid Ads (Google/IG/FB).

I wanted to start a DTC (Direct-To-Consumer) Bamboo toilet paper brand to help make the world a better place, but I lack the time and funds to help the business reach its full potential. I am selling this business based on the brand name/potential, the inventory, and the growth of the category. Bampoo could be a big player in this space if ran by the right person. When the transaction is finalized, the dedicated migration team at Exchange will begin the process of making you the new owner of the store. Buyers and sellers will be notified via an email from the Exchange team once store transfers have been completed.
