Why this business was started

I was interested in having a side business and wanted it to involve a sports theme. I work full time in finance and was looking for a side project where I could be creative outside of the everyday spreadsheet and analysis work. It has been so much fun and I'm very proud of this store, but just don't have the time to focus on it.

The reason of selling this business

This store has a ton of potential and just needs more attention than I can give it. I want to find a new home for it and looking for a buyer who can dedicate at least 10 hours per week to help it reach its max potential.

What's involved in running this business

Currently, not much. All of the traffic is driven through google SEM/SEO and shopping campaigns. From time to time, Google Adwords should be reviewed and tweaked to optimize spend and campaigns. I do this once a month (takes about an hour or less). There's an opportunity to generate repeat business through email marketing, which I don't currently do. There's a huge opportunity with social media marketing channels, which I also don't currently do. I just spend 2-3 hours per week making sure orders get fulfilled properly and handling the one off rare customer service questions. As this is a drop-shipping store, order fulfillment includes sending the orders off to the manufacturers. Once the manufacturer finishes making the products and ships them (this can take 2-3 weeks for the larger area rugs), they provide shipping tracking information. The order is then marked as fulfilled and Shopify will automatically inform the customer that there order is on the way and provide tracking information if submitted with fulfillment. This can be done very efficiently right through Shopify. I have automated most of the other aspects of the business. Thank you emails are automatically sent to customers when they make a purchase and Shopify will send abandoned cart email reminders and update customers on their shipments.

    How to grow this business

    There is a huge opportunity right now to add high margin products and various new lines that compliment our current products. I have these ready to be added to the store, but haven't had the time to do it. The new owner can add these items right away and with the upcoming holiday season, these new products should help to sky rocket sales. Also, currently I don't do any social media and/or email marketing. There is huge opportunity there for anyone with facebook or instagram marketing experience. There are several ways to grow this store, and I will share all of those plans and ideas with the new owner.

    Skills to have

    The new owner should have a passion for sports (particularly NFL and/or all College sports). Some experience with social media and email marketing would be a benefit.
