Why this business was started
In November of 2018, as an amateur entrepreneur interested in drop shipping, I started this brand / business to get myself into the online business game. I was certain I wanted to be in this space and I was convinced by the "gurus" that it was easy and I could easily do it. Boy was I wrong.
The reason of selling this business
I never expected to make money quickly, however, as thankfully my entrepreneurial education told me that sometimes the journey is long and tough and you need to not give up and keep going. I love the brand and business that I've created, but it has finally come to my awareness that I do not have enough capital or knowledge of the fashion or apparel industry to take this brand to it's full potential. I fought hard for this business and have invested as many hours as I have dollars, but I started this way too early in my journey. I was not educated enough when I started and it has cost me many hours I could have spent learning and building my skills instead of running this business. Don't get me wrong, I learned a lot while running it, and that's the only reason I stuck with this for so long, but I know I could learn more if I invested my time and now scarce money into educating myself and building skills instead of running this business.
What's involved in running this business
What this business needs to succeed a well educated and experienced entrepreneur and marketer who likes the brand and the idea and has enough money to invest to do the key things I can't afford to like ordering product samples, buying / creating a better website (currently using a free Shopify theme that runs a little slow; this brand would do really well with a professional website.), creating good clothing ads with pictures taken with real products instead of Printful mockups, and being able to do market research and design clothes that people want to buy.
Other tasks include: - Running and maintaining the Instagram account (Expanding into Pinterest is a good move for this brand) + I can educate you very well on our Instagram account and what I do to get 90+ relevant followers a day organically. - Running the Facebook ads (You'll get our pixel and all of the ads and data) - Be a CEO and work towards putting a system in place to automate this as much as possible - You may want to be the face of the brand. I believe this would be appropriate.

How to grow this business
I would invest a lot in brand awareness and market research and getting feedback on what the people who follow us and love black and the black aesthetic like and don't like to build a close relationship with them through social media and maintain and nurture that relationship over the course of the 5 years while constantly growing and expanding our following and reach. Along the way, Black Aesthetics would have to start producing original content as right now we mainly repost and continuously creating new clothing designs and expanding our catalog into more products, perhaps even working out deals with suppliers to supply clothing that would do well with our following. Social media like Instagram and Pinterest are crucial driving forces for this brand.
Skills to have
Experience in ecommerce is recommended and general business acumen especially. This business, I don't believe, is a good "first business," but I may be wrong. Knowing about the fashion and apparel industry would certainly help and a good eye for design would help greatly. I am by no means a fashion designer, so my strategy was to just steal graphics I found on Pinterest and put them on the clothes. The few designs I created myself were not very good. Also, you should probably love the color black.
