Why this business was started

Blue Rock Barn is a dropship home decor online retail business that we started in 2020 right before the Covid pandemic. It was not a great time to start a business, but who would’ve known that was coming! We weathered the storm well and consistently grew the business in 2020. My wife loves home decor and redecorating our home, so it seemed like a perfect fit for us. I was in school at the time and needed a project to work on in my free time. Home decor is extremely popular across the country, and we don't see it slowing down any time soon.

The reason of selling this business

We simply do not have the time. I am not longer in school, and my wife's schedule is too busy to give the business the time it needs. Every day we have to deal with campaigns, products, customer service, and managing it all together is becoming too much for us. Because of this, we pulled back on our advertising and all of our sales come from email marketing and organic Facebook/Instagram posts. Blue Rock Barn is very profitable, and the sales potential is significant if we had the time. We proved this with our sales in 2020 and the beginning of 2021. However, it needs attention. It needs someone 100% dedicated to this business, otherwise it would remain at the same level, which for some may be fine.

This means that there is still a terrific amount of opportunity on other platforms like (Tiktok, gooogle, pinterest and others) and take more advantage of the organic audience through email marketing, Facebook, and SEO.

    We already have accounts with multiple suppliers, so the product line is endless. With some tweaks, you can continue to develop a reputable brand.

    Skills to have

    To manage this store, it will be extremely helpful if you at least have the basics: marketing on facebook/instagram , order management on Shopify, ecommerce management in general, customer service. It is possible to be successful without, as we developed these skills over time, but you will need to drive to learn.
