To be able to sell unique handmade products, fairtrade and working together with the makers has proven joyfull and fullfilling. I never planned to have an E-shop but I got a lot of positive feedback about my own pair of (bought) shoes and decided to import the brand into the Netherlands. That is how it started and I ve added my own designs later.

BOTTINES Handcrafted footwear is an international web store based in the Netherlands that brings the finest artisanal footwear from Europe and was founded in 2010.
The webstore specialises in handcrafted footwear, made under good European circumstances, with the best leathers and materials, by highly skilled European (French and Greek) craftspeople. Therefore the products are 100% guild free and beautiful to wear. We work with a top French brand - La Botte Gardiane from the South of France, offering the highest quality of leather footwear. In 2017 we started working with a beautiful small scale atelier from the Peloponnese, Greece, that hand make the new Summer sandals for BOTTINES under our own label. And in 2019 a raffia shoe line under our own design and label was added.
BOTTINES has been featured frequently in the press, and among the customers there are even celebraties. The majority of customers also buys a second, third or even fourth pair as they like the comfort of the shoes, so a loyal customer following.

How to grow this business
There is a really big growth possible if social media was actively picked up. I hardly do anything on all platforms and one off collaboration with an influencer already proofed successful. I just don't have the time next to my full time job.
