I purchased this business from a previous seller on the platform. I wanted to test out dropshipping in the beauty and health niche, since I currently operate a successful store (however, it is inventory based)
The reason of selling this business
I have decided to sell this store as I've realized that the dropshipping model is just not for me! Coming from an inventory based business background, it is a lot different, and I believe I prefer to stay in that arena.
What's involved in running this business
The website has been redesign, with updated branding colors, logos, images, and theme. So currently, the main thing that needs to happen is ensuring customers received their packages (customer service), running google/facebook ads, and sending customers their order when they make a purchase.
The original owner has been using CJ dropship for this. However, I would look into private labeling, or finding a distributor with both an international and US based warehouse so customers can get their items faster.
Update I have purchased inventory to keep the store active + gain positive traction using Ebay. Sales have been consistent on Ebay, as the store picks up organic traffic. I have been shipping items from home, so you will need your own shipping account (like shipstation), or to ship using Shopify or Ebay.
Additional items that need to be done:
- Building content (blog posts, videos, etc) to be posted on the website for sEO
- Building and posting(scheduling) content on Facebook (IG page has not been created)
- Researching product niche to increase the product offerings (especially to sell on Ebay, Google Shopping, etc.)
Domain is through NameCheap and is $13/year. However the current domain has been paid through until April 28, 2020

The previous owner spent $1,439 on FB advertisements, this equated to having 100+ orders that month. I only drove traffic to the website blog post using $25, to generate some new warm leads. If you know how to cut these costs, overall profit margins will be better.

How to grow this business
First, this store needs someone who is truly familiar with dropshipping and running ads for this type of business model. This is where my experience lacks, and why I've determined that this was not the best avenue for me.
Likewise, investing into research and development for new products to add. Possibly private label the tool, and have the product go out monthly to influencers and product reviewers on Youtube/Instagram/Tik Tok
Update I have linked this shop to Ebay. So the next store owner will need to understand that platform, how to make listing keyword rich, and sourcing products that sell well on their marketplace.
Skills to have
Make sure to be comfortable with dropshipping, especially with handling wait times for customers to receive their products.
Update -- New owner should be comfortable with an inventory model, or linking with dropshipping suppliers that can get items to customers within 2-3 weeks. Store has been linked with Ebay, and shipping has been done with USPS to US customers. When taking the shop international, the new store owner will need to research high quality shipping options to reduce times.
