Wine and Beer Holders for Bath and Shower. Registered UK designs.
Great opportunity for someone with more time to put into the shop. With zero PR and marketing budget we managed to make £11,000 in the first month of the shop opening. Due to a change in circumstances, after our initial success, I no longer had the time to run the shop and handle the orders so it is with great sadness that I am looking at selling.
Financials and traffic
As I mentioned above, we have not been active with this store for a while now, this includes social media etc.

These are estimates but as I said, we have not been putting time or money into the business.

(ie. Adwords, Facebook ads, etc.)
The items are not currently packaged as they are being packaged by hand as orders arrive, as described above so this will need to be factored in. They also do not currently have the backing tape however, I could do this before sending through.
This is a unique product which could see huge margins with the right manufacturer. We stuck with UK manufacturing which caused an issue when speaking with retailers in the US but the potential there would be huge if the right buyer were to take this on. We had incredible interest from the US and people looking to stock our product but we didn’t have the financial capabilities to make this happen when taking into account manufacturing costs and packaging. We also had numerous contacts in other countries looking for licences to sell but again, without the financial backing to make this happen, we were unable to exploit this to its full potential.
How can the future owner improve the business?
It needs a lower production cost and ideally a location in the US for this to really take off. We did a lot of business there but the shipping costs for the Customer was 50% of the product cost so we lost a lot of business. If you are able to set this up in the US I suspect the market could be huge. I also suggest having enough stock as we continually ran out. Packaging would also have to be improved as these are currently hand packed and pillow boxes do not travel well in the mail.
What work have you put into the store?
We have a very user friendly interface and good product shots. We got a lot of interest from local media when we launched and social media went crazy around there product. I have brought this product from concept to reality, a few bumps along the way but having moved away from traditional bathroom ‘suckers’ and towards innovative and durable tape products I believe we are leading the way in bathroom accessories. This is a problem many people have and I feel we found the solution.
I am a young girl who had a good idea, I worked really hard, really quickly to bring this product to market. I have a lot to learn however, I know in the right hands this business and these products can flourish.
