Why this business was started

This business started out as a craft business by a friend and I. She decided to pull out and I took half the name and decided to go boutique with it. We started on facebook, we've been in some stores in a booth, we've been mobile ( we won Mobile Boutique of the year from the Hub that year!), and we have had our own storefront, and finally we created a website to save on overhead of a store and staff, and that has proven successful!

The reason of selling this business

I've been thinking about this for a year. We have come such a long way, but there is still so much potential! We still have debt from opening the storefront and paying staff ( bad business decision at the time) and I'd love to pay that off. This store could defintitely be profitable with overhanging debts erased! It is hitting the stage of growth. We have people from all over the United States who order from us, but there are still Customers out there to be reached for it to continue growing.

What's involved in running this business

Keeping up with the pictures on the website is very important, shipping, ordering inventory, keeping up an instagram, and my biggest avenue is posting and interacting daily and all day long on facebook, it is by far my largest market.

Other details about profit: I do have a few locals who pick up there items andy pay me directly, I also do monthly subscritpion bags that I use another program to invoice for those because I have them set up on recurring invoices/payments. There are also times that I inoive directly through paypal or venmo.

    How to grow this business

    As I said, this year I have really been pushing the online store. One thing that I have found that is so helpful in growth is relationships with your customers. When you have a relationship with you, they tend to recommend you to their friends and family more, therefore growing your customer base.

    Skills to have

    To love encouraging women is helpful! When you make them feel good about themselves, they keep coming back. That means more than just size small models. All size models is very helpful. I started the online store shipping free (bad move as I did not add that into my prices well) so I began to charge shipping, but just make sure however you do shipping, to make sure to add it into your price, because shipping can eat into your profit if you don't charge for it.
