Business Story

Why this business was started

Seeing the dozens of YouTube gurus and Facebook posts about people making tons of money dropshipping, I had to give it a go myself. There's no way that many people would be faking their results, right?

I was wrong. It wasn't nearly as easy as people made it out to be, and as you can see by the graph it took 9 months to get a little traction. But the rest was history from there.

Once I figured out how Facebook ads work and how to do proper product research, there wasn't another month where I was unprofitable and didn't find a winner. Now I make a ridiculous amount of money online, sitting at my desk, with a cup of coffee in my PJ's. Beats a 9-5 any day. The large drops in the graph were only due to Holidays (like CNY) and COVID.

The reason of selling this business

I knew selling this store would come eventually. Dropshipping from China (which is what I'm doing) is merely a stepping stone into bigger things in the online world, with the next steps being starting another business with the cash you've earned, or moving your operations inside of the US, private labeling products, etc. I'm opting for the 2nd option, creating my own company in the U.S.

That being said, there's nothing wrong with dropshipping from China. It's the BEST business for people new to the online world, and if you can figure it out you'll easily be able to make a 6 figure income while working a few hours per week. I've made $18k in just one month, and I'd be happy to show anyone purchases this store the exact processes I used to do so.

NOTE: The dropoff you see after May were because I stopped running Facebook ads to focus on my new business. At that point I was still making organic sales, but not nearly as much as before. The same thing happened in February when I stopped running ads because of the initial COVID outbreak.

What's involved in running this business

To run this business is simple. You have to do product research by looking at competitors, and "test" them by running Facebook ads to see if they're profitable. If they are profitable, then you can "scale" them by upping the budget in the correct ways.

This business was founded: almost 2 years ago
Time to run this business: approximately 25 hours per week

Other details about profit: Please note that in April and May, I netted $30k. That's when I assembled a team and started scaling this store. $6000 is an average for the entire year's profit ($36k total, average of 1200 orders/month), although it includes months where I stopped selling due to COVID. Selling this store for so low is more of an impulse-decision, as I really want to start investing all of my time into the new project I'm working on. $6000/net month can be made back in 90 days.

    Seller‘s Advice

    How to grow this business

I'd do the same thing that I've been doing before, just a larger scale with a larger team. Testing more products, optimizing the facebook ads better, and making the team more efficient.

    Skills to have

You have to be familiar with the dropshipping store business model, just understanding how it works at a basic level. Also, if you're somewhat familiar with Facebook ads that would help more. I offer post-purchase support so I'd be happy to show you exactly what I've done to grow this store.
