Why this business was started

Coming from a vast sales background and limited ecommerce experience, we decided to sell products that we ourselves liked to use. We started with the sauna industry because we saw that the sauna industry was growing rapidly. We also intentionally purchased a domain that is broad, instead of naming our store after a specific product. Our domain allows us to sell any product in the health and wellness space.

The reason of selling this business

We originally started the business with the intention to grow and sell the business one day. During our ownership, we have been able to grow our business by 8,000% from 2019 to 2021. Our individual and personal goals are to start our families and invest into new endeavors. We found ourselves at what we feel is a perfect time to sell a growing business for both us as the seller, while creating huge upside for buyer.

Other details about profit: The monthly averages Shopify calculates in the valuation are from the start of our store. The first year of our business was a learning experience and it wasn't until the end of 2019 when the business took off. Our average revenue in the year of 2020 is roughly 150k per month. My average profits I have listed are very conservative to what we have done over the last 10-11 months. Some months you will see profits upwards of 50-60k.

    How to grow this business

    • We see the largest short- term opportunity for our business with hot tubs which we have only been selling since 5/21/20. Revenue for hot tubs YTD surpasses $400,000 while dealing with Covid-19 manufacturing shut-downs and 6 month back-orders. The upside is substantial with “back to normal” manufacturing and inventory. • The manufacturer sends us 5-20 leads per week as their trusted partner. Due to this, we have only spent $12,000 in ads generating $400,000 + in revenue. • The most common objective is, customers didn’t want to wait 6 months for a hot tub and given the normal soon-to-be 2–4-week lead time, revenue should be $3m in hot tubs alone. • Hot tub chemicals, which we don’t currently offer, are another opportunity and have been part of our growth objective. • We can’t stress enough the largest opportunity here. We are the only e-Commerce hot tub store that you can have a real tailored and personal sales conversation with. • Our main hot tub manufacturer is NOT allowing any additional online dealers. Becoming an online hot tub dealer is extremely difficult, and we experienced this firsthand during this partnership. We called the top 15 hot tub manufacturers who wouldn’t even entertain the idea of an online dealer. The moment hot tubs were listed on our website, they took off without any delay. Once Covid-19 manufacturing back-ups are back to normal, the sky is really the limit here in this $1.5 billion dollar industry.

    The next easiest and most profitable growth opportunity product is Steam Showers/Generators. We are already able to offer SteamCore steam generators which is manufactured by our current supplier SaunaCore. Prior to Covid, we also sat down over lunch with our local Mr. Steam Regional Representative who gave us the green light to sell Mr. Steam as well, recently signed dealer contract. With our sauna growth, we simply had not taken the initiative to roll out the new product line but Steam is also part of our growth objective.

    We do have a list of additional 12+ products that we would be happy to give to the prospective buyer.

    Skills to have

    The current owners have sales backgrounds and learned Marketing on their own. Part of selling this business would be educating the buyer of their unique marketing approach that generates on average a 15X ROAS, as well as all of the sales knowledge that will be needed to be successful.

    Although it is not necessary because the ads are turnkey from here, the current owners are happy to recommend Digital Marketing agencies to take over ads.
