Why this business was started

We started this business after spotting a gap in the market for affordable bohemian homeware. The trend continues to grow as seen especially on Instagram, and our customers love our affiliations with prominent influencers in the niche. We wanted to hand pick items that we would want in our own home but that others would also fall in love with and have great profit margins. We also wanted to tap into crossover niches with a younger market, and have managed successfully to do so with some specialty items.

The reason of selling this business

We are selling this due to time restraints after the recent birth of our twins. We would love to continue as the workload for the site is very small, however at the minute we are juggling two full time jobs and babies and need all the sleep we can get!

What's involved in running this business

We receive orders from customers which we then order from the suppliers through Oberlo which is extremely quick and easy. We spent a lot of time in the beginning researching products and niches, however this is something that can always be improved on. Our advertising campaigns have been fairly limited, so there is massive potential to scale and improve FB ads for those with more knowledge of this area. We have email templates which we send out periodically to our subscribers, and we have a small but 100% organic following (700+) on Instragram with a massive 67% engagement rate, where we post product images including those from influencers, regrams of influencer photos and travel images that combine with our theme. Please note that even though the listing says product images not included, these are actually the manufacturers images which you are free to use.

    How to grow this business

    We would invest more time and money in learning and scaling Facebook ads. This business is just waiting for someone with this knowledge or the time to learn to scale up massively! Taking your own product photos will also be a game changer, we just have not had the time. We would also continue to work with some of the amazing Insta influencers in our niche who have helped us massively, and begin breaking into affiliate deals with them. Tapping in to some of our other crossover niches (will be explained to successful buyer only) will also prove profitable. We have only so far focused on the US, so there is massive potential to tap into other markets. We make sales in places like Greece and Australia due to Instagram exposure, so there is lots of room to expand.
