Why this business was started

I arrived in Paris and was very inspired by the city and by its artistic and fashion environments. I was searching for a job, but wanted to make some money aside and found a video on YouTube talking about Shopify. I just found it amazing. It looked simple and easy to set up. There was a jewelry brand from Montreal, my hometown, and I totally loved it so I decided to do something similar for Europe as it didn't exist here.

The reason of selling this business

I am starting a new full time job on April 1st. It is forbiden by the company's rules to have a side business, plus it is a very demanding job with long hours. I will not be able to manage both at the same time. It is unfortunate because I am very attached to this business and the brand I've built. But I am not ready to shut down the website, as I spent more than 50 hours weekly on it for the last 12 months. I want to see it online and see it grow and the brand evolve. That would be my dream.

What's involved in running this business

Regarding the daily to do, it takes around 15 minutes per order to print the packing slip, assemble the bracelet and ship it. If you don't want to handcraft yourself the bracelet, you can order them from China or elsewhere (Alibaba, Aliexpress). The stones are easy to find, but you have to buy them from a wholeseller (no need to order large quantity) to have lowest price.

The marketing is already well done, as it is my field of study. I have an Instagram page with 10.4k followers, and a Facebook page with around 1000 followers. I have a large bank of photos from influencers and product shots ready to post. The Twitter and Pinterest accounts could be more developed, but I think it is better to focus on two or three social medias top. You could keep YouTube and that's it.

I already have around 20 partnerships with digital influencers located in USA, Canada, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Morroco, China and UK. And I receive every week new requests to collaborate. They come to the brand easily as we were published in GQ British.

Other details about profit: Profit margin is VERY high. It is a light product that ships very well and doesn't need much storage space. You can do it from home. Sales are high because I only ran one campaign of 3 months with the GQ Magazine. I have been approached by many well known international magazines which you could work with: Vogue, Brides, In Style, etc.

    How to grow this business

    I would invest in digital marketing (Facebook Ads, Google Adwords, retargetting, tracking, etc). I would develop partnerships with YouTube vloggers and do more videos. I would ad to the branding with a custom logo sterling silver and gold bead. I would write more blog articles and make some videos, but this is very optional.

    Skills to have

    Some design skills to develop new models, but you don't have to handcraft them. You can order them on Alibaba or Aliexpress already done (but then need to hold an inventory).

    If you want to handcraft them, it is not hard to do (easy 5 minutes YouTube video to show you how to do the knots at the end) and you only need some creative ideas to develop new styles. You could also have someone to design them.
