Why this business was started
Classy Rradical was born almost a year ago when my partner and I decided to embark on a new journey.
The inspiration for the store came from my partner, who curated the stores concept and selected the pieces to sell in our collections.
Having studied fine arts and working as a stylist & creative director, my partner has a sharp eye for observing the latest trends in sub-cultures and translating them into the overall vibe and style that Classy Rradical conveys.
On the flip side, I studied politics & economics and have a much more analytical background.
Naturally, our task allocation has seen myself conducting business strategy, marketing, analytics & customer service while my partner curates the store and creates content for social media.
The reason of selling this business
Since we launched, the store has been growing steadily (theres a clear upward trajectory and we've only dominated one sales channel - Instagram/Facebook).
You might be wondering: why are we selling the store if it's bound to continue it's upward trajectory?
Here comes the sad part of the story.
My partner and I are embarking on our own personal journeys for growth & discovery and are going our separate ways for the time being. This inevitably creates uncertainty and complications in the management of the store as won't have the stability we currently enjoy.
Why don't you hire VA's to run the store?
We could do that, but embarking on our journeys means leaving everything behind and we both feel like even if we wouldn't have much work to do, it would still occupy some of our mental capacity.
When my partner and I work on something, we both have the tendency to constantly think about it and we need space to have our full mental energy.
We've considered hiring virtual assistants (which we've used for other projects in the past) to help us with the more repetitive, time-consuming aspects, but haven't gotten around to doing so, so it's just been the two of us in our spare time.
Our plan has always been to dominate one sales channel before expanding. In regards to social media, we see Pinterest and Snapchat as the top priority atm obviously other marketing efforts like PPC, SEO & content marketing.
What's involved in running this business
The store is a dropshipping store, so you won't need to hold ANY stock. We'll give you our database of suppliers. We also use Oberlo, which automates fulfillment from Aliexpress.
We're starting to dominate IG as a sales channel and have good relationships with influencers we've started working with in our niche. We have a very high engagement rate (almost 10%) and most of it has grown organically. We currently have 4100~ engaged followers and it continues to grow daily.
Essentially, all you need to run the store is an internet connection and a smartphone / laptop and of course, access to all the accounts: store details, email, apps like mailchimp, our social media handles and bank details.

How to grow this business
Double down on the current marketing strategy of using influencers and expand to various other countries (UK, US, Aus, etc.)
Hire an agency to work on SEO and start doing PPC ads as well.
Create a blog and start content marketing on fashion trends, etc.
Start branding the clothes from the suppliers & creating pop-up events, etc.
Skills to have
My partner and I started as beginners without any knowledge of marketing and running a business. We learnt as we went.
Knowledge of Instagram ads/ using influencers is important, although extremely easy to learn if you haven't done any of it yet.
SEO, Google Adwords, Content Marketing could be useful although we haven't done any of this thus far. It would definitely be a plus.
