Why this business was started
I started this business after a trip to a tropical location. During the vacation I realized that there are a lot of women that value a good swimsuit that makes them feel confident. When I got home I immediately started brainstorming on how I could start a women's swimsuit business. After a couple of months of building the website, testing different bikini suppliers, creating content for social media, etc. I was finally able launched my business.
The reason of selling this business
There are a few reasons why I am deciding to sell the business. 1. I have an idea and vision for another brand that I want to start that is unrelated to this one and I dont have time to be running both brands. 2. While a women's swimwear store is a great way to make money, I personally did not enjoy it. I am a guy and I really want to focus and put my energy into a business that I can use the products and I could not do that with a women's swimwear brand. 3. Because I am drop shipping, I received complaints about the bikinis taking to long and with my budget it is not possible to order all my bikinis in bulk and ship them myself. This store has so much potential in the hands of someone that has a bigger budget and a team that can help them with different parts of the business.
What's involved in running this business
To run this business involves: 1. Running ads. In my experience I have seen the most success running ads on Instagram. However I think there is a lot of potential to run ads to YouTube Influencers. Some other good places to run ads are Google and Facebook. 2. Reaching out to influencers. This is very important because it builds social proof for the business as well as brings in new clients. 3. Handling customer service. This is CRUCIAL to your success in this industry. 4. Content creation. You will need to create content for your social media accounts and also for your website. I am providing the new owners of this business with a folder that contains all the content that I have. Some of these pictures that I will provide have made me profitable ad campaigns on Instagram. 5. Fulfilling orders. I strongly advise the new owners to order products in bulk and sell the tops and bottoms separately. I lost a lot of sales because we only offered the tops and bottoms in the same size. I believe doing this can greatly increase profitability and customer feedback. 6. Marketing skills. A good marketer will have no problem running profitable campaigns in this industry.

How to grow this business
I would really focus on two things. Firstly I would work on creating trust and brand awareness through influencers. I really think that using YouTube influencers would be a great way to do this. Secondly I would build strong Instagram ads. Instagram ads have been the best way for me to generate sales while I was running the business. Another thing that I think is very interesting is TikTok. I would really invest time in building a community on TikTok and also look into TikTok ads.
Skills to have
Marketing is a very important skill to have. The new owner of the store should either be well versed in marketing or have someone on their team that is well versed in marketing. Leadership skills are also important. I assume that the new owner of the business will want to grow it to something big and the owner will need to have good leadership skills in order to make sure that everyone is doing their part. Another thing that is important is for the new owner to either know about bikinis or have someone on their team that does. This is important because you will need to know what you are talking about in your product descriptions as well as when you are communicating with your customers.
