Why this business was started
My wife and I wanted to use our skillsets and combine them to create additional revenue streams. We're both passionate about being eco-friendly and saw a huge potential in the ebike market segment. Factory built Ebikes (electric bicycles) are very expensive and hard to come by, so we focused on the ebike conversion market which has also seen explosive growth.
The reason of selling this business
While the massive growth our store has experienced has been phenomenal and hugely fun to be a part of, other things in our life are starting to take higher priority - we have 3 very small kids, we recently bought a new house which needs renovating and my professional career is taking off and needs more attention. We're extremely proud of what we've built and achieved and are now ready to let someone else grow it even further!

How to grow this business
The store has shown massive potential due to the explosion of ebike sales and interest in electric vehicles in general. Covid further boosted this trend, and we saw sales increase a lot due to less people travelling.
The biggest opportunity for growth is through creation of more digital content on Youtube, growing the subscriber base, and expanding internationally. Canada is a market we only started tapping into in the last few months and have had huge success, and there is very little competition here. The US still has tons of opportunity for growth and is a more stable market year-round due to the various climates. There's also the potential to expand into the UK and Australia via social media and Youtube especially.
Skills to have
I didn't have any technical hands on experience with building bikes, batteries or electric motors - and I made it work just by slowly reading up on it by answering customer questions. You need to be a little bit technical to understand the basic concepts of ebikes, motors and batteries - enough to answer basic customer questions. The rest can easily be learned as you go.
