Why this business was started

I decided to start this business because I wanted a long-term e-commerce business that millions of people are aware of and that has a good reputation. I didn't want a short-term business, which is why I was sure to choose a product that solves a problem, is currently in demand, has been proven to sell, isn't saturated, isn't seasonal, and is logistically sound. I made sure to create a one-product store to gravitate around the product, to increase the trust and reliability of the brand and the product.

The reason of selling this business

I started my ecommerce journey a few years ago and have loved every bit of it. As previously stated, I wanted to build a brand that is in it for the long run, so I made sure to choose a product that solves a common problem and serves a broad market. I also made sure the product is logistically sound, to ensure that I wouldn't have any issues with returns or poor customer feedback, and subsequently advertising issues. With all of that said, I have enjoyed selling this product, mainly because it is super easy to sell, there is not any hard selling, and the product sells itself. Nonetheless, I have decided to sell this business so that I can focus my energy towards my tech startup.

What's involved in running this business

In summary, this is a brand that: - Has reached millions of people on social media. - Has a premium domain that is easy to remember and increases the brand's trust factor.

The brand is a one-product store, and the product: - Solves a common problem. - Serves a broad market. - Is evergreen (not seasonal). - Has been proven to sell. - Is currently in demand. - Is logistically sound (not liquid, glass, etc.) to avoid returns, poor customer feedback, and advertising issues. - Isn't saturated.

Other key aspects: - The brand has plenty of content that can be used for advertising, some of which has not been used yet. - I price the product at $49.99 USD + $6.99 for shipping. This gives me high margins, while keeping it an impulsive purchase for the customer. Because of this pricing, the conversion rate is not super high (2.27%), but this can be attributed to the fact that advertising this product has always had a relatively low CPM (of just $10) and a high CTR of 2.33% (a little over 2.5x the industry average of 0.9%). Also, all of this revenue has come from cold traffic, I have never run retargeting ads. Another point to make is that it has a free Shopify theme, so you can always purchase a premium theme which can have a positive impact upon your conversion rate.

What's involved with running this business: 1. Marketing - Even though it will only take you a couple of hours per day to run this entire business, marketing will be the majority of what you do with your time. I have only marketed this brand on Facebook and Instagram, where it has reached millions of views. At the beginning of the day, I spend about 30 minutes evaluating yesterday's performance of the campaigns and ad sets - then create a plan for what to do next in order to increase the overall ROAS. - The other aspect of marketing is the creatives themselves. This simply consists of editing the videos that will be used on social media as your ads. This is something you will rarely need to do, because one creative has the potential to last you several months, or even several years. As previously stated, I have plenty of content and creatives for this product, all of which is included.

  2. By logistics, I simply mean paying for the goods sold and communicating with the supplier to take care of any issues that can occur (such as lost orders, returns, etc).

  3. Customer Support

  4. Since I barely get any customer support inquiries for this brand (thanks to fast shipping, positive customer feedback, and tracking and email apps) I simply take care of the few customer support inquiries by myself, which usually takes about 30 minutes per day.

  5. Auditing

  6. The final aspect of running this business is auditing, which is intuitive. By auditing, I simply mean ensuring you're aware of your debits, credits, and important advertising metrics that you care about.

This forced me amortize the average profit and average monthly orders over 3 months (May, June, and July), instead of just 2 months (June and July). Because of this, my actual average monthly profit and average monthly orders is slightly higher than what is reported here, but the profit margin remains the same.

    I built this store because I wanted an automated store that lasts a long time, and that's exactly what this is. To optimize this store, I would focus upon creating new content and running fresh ads on social media to increase the brand's reach and awareness. Regarding social media accounts and pages, I will not include this in the sale, mainly because our Instagram account and Facebook Page are associated with other brands, so it isn't feasible to also include them in the sale.
