The pandemic put a stop to my tourism related businesses. I knew I wanted to pick a niche that tapped into personal connections. Having 2 pets that helped me throughout the pandemic, I knew the pet niche was the way to go. Very grateful that this provided 2+ years of income and success.
The reason of selling this business
With the pandemic coming to an end, I have spent the last 8 months relaunching my tourism related businesses. Now with them all operating again, I have little time and energy for this store. The sales are still consistent, the numbers are decent and the potential is there I just purely do not have the time and think it’s time to hand the baton over to someone who can really push this store to the next level.
What's involved in running this business
I have an amazing VA that has been with me for 18 months. She would be willing to stay with the store if the buyer chooses. She understands the ins and outs of the business and handles all customer service, fulfilment and deals directly with our agent. She is the only reason I have continued with this store for as long as I have (with my other businesses requiring so much more of my attention) as she really lightens the load in terms of day-to-day operations.
This leaves the buyer to focus solely on opportunities utilising our 2+ years product sales data over our catalogue of 50 items, creating complete marketing campaigns on multiple platforms and pushing our email campaigns forward to where I feel they could be as well as other points raised in “How would you grow your store in the next 5 years.”

SuppliersI have an automated system in place for all order fulfilment and will transfer ownership of this platform to the buyer. Due to my longstanding relationship with this supplier, they provide free pre-stock of my main sellers so we have on average a 24 hour processing time. Another bonus with my setup is all goods have been personally quality inspected and payment for goods can be made via CC, Paypal or transfer Sale includes transfer of all assets including, paypal, google ads, facebook verified business acct, shopify account, domain transfer etc. The listed price is negotiable. How to grow this business
For the last 18 months, we have advertised exclusively with Google Ads (shopping and search). Our top selling product is a very commonly searched product type. With google ads getting more and more competitive, there is a huge hole in the underutilisation of other advertising platforms. We saw success on facebook at the start, I’ve just not had the time to continue pursuing this avenue. We have not even tried tiktok or other platforms. 90%+ of our sales come exclusively from our google ads campaigns.
So, one opportunity is correct utilisation of other marketing platforms. We have an inventory of 50 items with 2 years of sales data. So, the buyer should be creating complete and effective campaigns based on this data across various platforms. Our store has consistently achieve conversion rates of 2.6 – 3% so, I fell the tools are there site side but under-utilised currently.
We have a large customer database of over 20k people. We do limited klaviyo email marketing with flows in place and working in our connected account. We have a decent repeat customer rate however, the database could be far better utilised for someone with the time and expertise.
SEO, Social and organic opportunities are there as well. While we get some organic sales we do think this is also an area that is under-utilised. We have organic followers on our social platforms but once again, I have not had the time to effectively leverage this.
One area I have always wanted to spend more time on is proper implementation of AOV initiatives. Product bundles, quantity bundles, post checkout upsells etc etc.
