Why this business was started

I started this business to market affordable eco-friendly sustainable household goods to consumers by offering products that are made from primary materials such as Bamboo, Cork, Straw, Seagrass, Silk, Hemp, Cotton or other eco-friendly sustainable sourced primary materials.

By offering eco-friendly sustainable goods we can help drive environmental change such as reducing deforestation and environmental cleanup of our planet. It is through this commitment that I decided to have the business donate 5% of its sales proceeds to Conservation International.

The reason of selling this business

The decision to sell the business is due to a new business venture. Unfortunately, I no longer have the time to dedicate resources for marketing the business as needed to sustain future growth.

What's involved in running this business

This e-commerce business is a dropship model with no inventory carrying cost or liability. It can easily be managed by one person if they are fully dedicated to the business. This includes being able to identify and negotiate potential selling products for this niche, creating product descriptions, adding products to catalog, managing inventory feeds (replacing out of stock product), creating, running and managing social media advertising campaigns/promotions and fulfilling/shipping orders.

Majority of the business products are sourced/shipped through AliExpress with automated inventory management through Oberlo. The remaining products are personal business connections with Etsy suppliers where inventory and orders are manually managed.

Marketing is currently being done through continual Google Shopping as well as average monthly social media adds through Facebook and Instagram. Regular products are visualized through Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
