Business Story
Why this business was started
PROFIT AND REVENUE NUMBERS ABOVE ARE INCORRECT. Exchange Marketplace limits what I can input since its averaging out the numbers. Site opened in march, officially launched in October. October sales were 30k (profit $7k). Scaled to $269k in revenue in November (profit $66k) and $234k in revenue in December (profit $54k) ** This was really only from December 1st-10th because we were scaling too quickly and customers weren't going to get their orders in time for Xmas. We did $25k in revenue on Dec 6th, 2020 and would have easily surpassed $500k in revenue this month if we had our operation set up the way it is now. We had 4x+ Roas at this scale and could have had $35k-$45k days if our old supplier could have handled the volume. I recently paused this biz to upgrade fulfillment operation. Fulfillment partner is now based in US with 3-5 day shipping. YOU WILL RECOUP YOUR INVESTMENT BY EOY. I expect this brand to scale to 10k per day for the 3-4 weeks leading up to mothers day and fathers day. You will be able to begin Q4 holiday scaling in early October if you begin testing holiday content in Aug/Sept.
UPDATE: We had over 12k holiday orders that experienced high shipping delays due to covid-19 and suppliers inability to meet scale (this is why I moved entire operation to US with trusted supplier). Due to these delays, FB restricted our pages ability to advertise due to our page score. There are several options to appeal or alternatively just start a new page under a different name which I've personally dealt with SEVERAL times... the value is in the winning product, supply chain, email list, and target audiences (which you will have access to the entire ad account to see how I was running ads). Price has been adjusted to reflect this update and forecasted revenue numbers for mothers/fathers day and Q4 are still accurate.
The reason of selling this business
I have several other projects I am working on and don't have the time to take this brand to the next level. I could leave this brand on auto-pilot and only manage advertising and it would still generate $200k+ in profit by the end of the year—but if a buyer is willing to spend the time to introduce new products/test various upsells & cross sells of new POD products, this will be a $3m+ revenue business FY 2021. 95% of revenue is USA. Someone with global market experience would see greater results.
We previously had shipping times of about 2 weeks so I spent the past month sourcing USA suppliers. I now have a seamless fulfillment process with 3-5 day shipping in the USA (with no volume limitations) and the ability to expand to internationally. We previously saw a huge spike in Mexico sales, but pulled the plug because shipping time was too long. This product has incredible potential on an international scope thats virtually been untouched.
What's involved in running this business
Its a print on demand/made to order business so we do not purchase inventory upfront. I spend about 30 min a day creating a spreadsheet which I then send to someone who prepares the digital files to be printed. Once they return the files to me, I share directly with my supplier in slack. My supplier gets order details and shipping information automatically through ShipStation, and then they use the artwork files that I send to them to have printed. Simple as that.

Seller‘s Advice
How to grow this business
These results are from selling only 1 print on demand product - expansion into dozens of print on demand products for this store will yield exponential results.
Skills to have
- Facebook/IG Ads. All traffic came from FB/IG. We did not use any marketing tools other than klaviyo to achieve these results.
- Email marketing (Klaviyo flows that are set up have performed incredibly so there is no work needed there. But there is a big opportunity for creating & sending campaigns to sell to existing customers - especially for new products to be introduced).
